デキストロースを、種々の時間(t=0、1および3時間)、100℃にてアンモニアと予備反応させ、続いてHMDA、クエン酸または硫酸アンモニウムで架橋させた。t=0は、炭水化物成分と含窒素成分を混合し、即座に、すなわち予備反応のための時間を全く許容せずに架橋剤を添加したことに対応する。
計算:
最適なモル当量を有するバインダーを計算した。ここで、糖は、等モル量の半分のアンモニア基とともに予備反応させ、残りの半分とともに架橋させる(表1、2および3)。
上記のようにして、9種類のバインダーを70%の固形分で調製し、7%の固形分まで希釈し、マイクロファイバーフィルター上で硬化させた。フィルターを5分間(充分に硬化)、または2.5分間(水中に若干の抽出物が残る)硬化させた。また、その硬化速度を追跡するため、バインダーを22.5%に希釈した(図1参照)。硬化速度を追跡するため、バインダーの液滴をガラス繊維フィルター上に置き、種々の時間硬化させた。硬化したスポットを水中で抽出し、浸出物の吸光度を、分光測光器を用いて測定した。吸光度は、初期では可溶性の着色化合物の形成のため上昇した。次いで、吸光度は、この可溶性化合物の架橋のため低下した。硬化速度は、吸光度が最低値まで低下するのにかかる時間とみなす。
実施例2:デキストロースとHMDAの予備反応物型バインダー組成物
デキストロースを、0、15および60分間、60℃にてHMDAおよびHMDAと予備反応させ、クエン酸または硫酸アンモニウムで架橋させた。

バインダーを、実施例1に基づいて計算した:
全体の比率は:糖由来のC=O/HMDA由来の−NH2/HMDAもしくはAmSO4由来の−NH2またはクエン酸由来の−COOHは2/0.8/0.8(表4、5および6)である。
実施例1のセクションに記載のようにして、バインダーをフィルター上(200℃で5分間)およびアルミニウム皿の中で硬化させた。実施例1の硬化速度の追跡に関する手順を使用し、硬化速度を140℃で比較した(図2参照)。
実施例3:予備反応物型バインダー組成物に関する熟成試験
目的
予備反応物型バインダーが、パーティクルボードの作製に関してどのように経時的に変化するかを評価すること。特に、予備反応物型バインダーの熟成により、内部結合強度(IB)がより良好なボードが得られるか、より悪いボードが得られるかに関する指標、および作りたての予備反応物型バインダーの使用と比べたときの膨潤度に対する効果を示す。

バインダーが最初に作製されてから研究室での使用または工場での試用まで数週間かかることがあり得る。これは、主に、輸送期間、製造スケジュールおよび試験による遅延のためである。数週間までのバインダーの熟成が該バインダーで作製された任意のボードの特性に影響を及ぼすかどうかを知ることは必要である。予備反応物型バインダーは、室温(約20℃)ではずっと遅い速度で反応し続け、これにより、i)メラノイジンへのメイラード反応の継続(これは、最終硬化物においてなされるべき反応が少なくなり、そのため、より急速に容易に反応を行なわなければならないことを意味する)、ii)該反応がいくぶん低下して異なる経路で進行し、結合時、完全に硬化するとメラノイジンがより濃い、場合によってはより薄い分子が作製され得ること、iii)このような余分な反応により酸などの不要な副生成物が生成され得、これにより硬化が遅くなり得ることがもたらされ得ると考えられる。

からなる1.8kgの予備反応物型バインダーを作製した。
所望の密度 − 650kg/m3
チップの湿分 − 3.1%
バインダーの割合 − 10.0重量%
プラテン温度 − 195℃
プレス係数 − 14秒/mm
圧力 − 504KN
最初の混合物を0日目と仮定すると、ボードは0、7、14および21日目に作製した。0日目に1つのボードを12秒/mmで作製し、14日目に1つのボードを新たな手順の試行に使用したため、0日目と14日目は1つのボードのみを試験した。
予備反応物型バインダー組成物は以下の手順によって製造され得る:
1.必要量の熱水を必要量の糖(1種類または複数種)に添加する。
実施例5:キシロース:フルクトース+HMDA予備反応物型バインダーの安定性
予備反応なしでは、50%キシロース含有炭水化物溶液を合わせると、一般的に5分以内にゲル化が起こる。したがって、かかるバインダーの使用によるボードの製造は不可能である。しかしながら、予備反応をすると、木板の作製に成功裡に使用した安定なバインダーを作製することが可能になる。
実施例6:予備反応物型バインダーと従来バインダーとの比較
この一連の実験では、バインダーの配合を以下のとおりとした:
85%のDMH(デキストロース一水和物)+15%のAmSO4(硫酸アンモニウム)+1.25%のNH4OH+9%の油性エマルジョン+0.3%のISI0200(シラン)
予備反応物型バインダーのため、DMHとAmSO4を65%の固形分で100℃にて2時間予備反応させた。試行当日、このバインダーを希釈し;アンモニア、油性エマルジョンおよびシランをこれに添加した。
i)どちらのバインダーでも、同様のLOI、硬化および離散強度を有するガラスウール断熱材製品が得られた。予備反応物型バインダーの方が、剛性および発塵性が大きかった。粉塵の増大は、おそらく、予備反応物型バインダーで作製した製品の方が密度が高いことによって一部説明され得る
ii)湿分傾斜は、マットの場所によって異なり、これは、形成コンベア下での吸引の不均衡のためであり得る
ことを示す。
実施例7:予備反応物型バインダー組成物の粘度
予備反応物型バインダーの調製:
DMH/HMDA予備反応物を、DMH(水なしのバインダー組成物の総重量に対して88.89wt%)およびHMDA(水なしのバインダー組成物の総重量に対して11.11wt%)、すなわち、5.16モル当量のDMHと1モル当量のHMDAを水中で(70%の固形分で)、密封加圧ガラスボトル内で混合し、60℃で20分間加熱し、予備反応物型バインダー組成物を調製することにより調製した。
実施例8:種々の予備反応物型バインダー組成物のGPC解析

Claims (37)
- (i)物質集合体を提供する工程、
(ii)水溶液または分散液の形態の水溶性予備反応物型バインダー組成物を提供する工程であって、該水溶液または分散液が80wt%以下の該予備反応物型バインダー組成物を含み、該予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、
(a)少なくとも1種類の還元糖と、
(b)ヘキサメチレンジアミンとの
反応生成物(1種類または複数種)を含み、
該予備反応物型バインダー組成物は、1〜500kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーを、該予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して2wt%または2wt%より多くの量で含む、工程、
(iii)該水溶液または分散液を、物質集合体に適用する工程、および
(iv)該溶液または分散液を含有する物質集合体に、エネルギーを適用し、該バインダー組成物を硬化させる工程
を含む、高分子バインダーによって結合された物質集合体の製造方法。 - 保存する工程、およびその後、前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物に架橋剤を添加する工程をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記架橋剤が、ヘキサメチレンジアミンを含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記1〜500kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーが、前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して5wt%または5wt%より多くの量で含有される、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記1〜500kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーが、前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して10wt%または10wt%より多くの量で含有される、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記1〜500kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーが、前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して20wt%または20wt%より多くの量で含有される、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記1〜500kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーが、前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して35wt%または35wt%より多くの量で含有される、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記1〜500kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーが、前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して50wt%または50wt%より多くの量で含有される、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、少なくとも30wt%の該予備反応物型バインダー組成物を含有する水溶液または分散液の形態である、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、少なくとも40wt%の該予備反応物型バインダー組成物を含有する水溶液または分散液の形態である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、少なくとも50wt%の該予備反応物型バインダー組成物を含有する水溶液または分散液の形態である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、少なくとも55wt%の該予備反応物型バインダー組成物を含有する水溶液または分散液の形態である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、80〜500kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーを、該予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して0.2wt%または0.2wt%より多くの量で含む、請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、80〜500kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーを、該予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して0.5wt%または0.5wt%より多くの量で含む、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、80〜500kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーを、該予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して0.75wt%または0.75wt%より多くの量で含む、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、10〜80kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーを、該予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して1wt%または1wt%より多くの量で含む、請求項1〜15のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、10〜80kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーを、該予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して5wt%または5wt%より多くの量で含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、10〜80kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーを、該予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して10wt%または10wt%より多くの量で含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、10〜80kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーを、該予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して30wt%または30wt%より多くの量で含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、10〜80kDaの範囲の分子量を有する少なくとも1種類のプレポリマーを、該予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して50wt%または50wt%より多くの量で含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、(a)の少なくとも1種類の還元糖および(b)のヘキサメチレンジアミンとは異なる、10kDaのまたは10kDaより小さい分子量を有する1種類または1種類より多くの化合物を含む、請求項1〜20のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記10kDaのまたは10kDaより小さい分子量を有する1種類または1種類より多くの化合物が、グリコールアルデヒド、グリセルアルデヒド、2−オキソプロパナール、アセトール、ジヒドロキシアセトン、アセトイン、ブタンジオン、エタナール、グルコソン、1−デソキシヘキソスロース、3−デソキシヘキソスロース、3−デソキシ−ペントスロース、1,4−ジデソキシヘキソスロース、グリオキサール、メチルグリオキサール、ジアセチルおよび5−(ヒドロキシメチル)フルフラールのうちの1種類または1種類より多くを含む、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物の少なくとも1種類の還元糖が、単糖類、二糖類および多糖類またはその混合物からなる群より選択される、請求項1〜22のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物の少なくとも1種類の還元糖成分が、還元糖およびインサイチュで還元糖を生成する成分からなる群から選択され、該還元糖が、リボース、アラビノース、キシロース、リキソース、グルコース(デキストロース)、マンノース、ガラクトース、アロース、アルトロース、タロース、グロース、イドース、フルクトース、プシコース、ソルボース、ジヒドロキシアセトンおよびタガトースまたはその混合物からなる群より選択され、該インサイチュで還元糖を生成する成分が、スクロースである、請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記物質集合体は、鉱物繊維、鉱滓綿繊維、石綿繊維、ガラス繊維、アラミド繊維、セラミック繊維、金属繊維、炭素繊維、ポリイミド繊維、ポリエステル繊維、レーヨン繊維、セルロース系繊維、石炭、砂、かんなくず、おがくず、木材パルプ、砕木、木材チップ、木片、木材積層体、黄麻、亜麻、麻、わら、ベニヤ板、化粧材、化粧板、粒子および織物または不織材料からなる群より選択される物質を含む、請求項1〜24のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 70wt%の前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物を含有する水溶液が、20℃で最大2000cPの粘度を有する、請求項1〜25のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 70wt%の前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物を含有する水溶液の粘度は、20℃で12時間放置したとき500cPより大きく増大しない、請求項1〜26のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜27のいずれか1項に記載の方法であって、前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物が、前記少なくとも1種類の還元糖(a)およびヘキサメチレンジアミン(b)を含む出発物質を混合することによって調製される予備反応物型バインダーであり、該出発物質中の該少なくとも1種類の還元糖(a)およびヘキサメチレンジアミン(b)の総量が、予備反応前のバインダー組成物の総重量に対して少なくとも20wt%である、方法。
- 前記予備反応物型バインダー組成物を調製するための出発物質中の少なくとも1種類の還元糖(a)およびヘキサメチレンジアミン(b)の総量が、予備反応前の前記バインダー組成物の総重量に対して少なくとも40wt%である、請求項28に記載の方法。
- 前記出発物質中の少なくとも1種類の還元糖(a)およびヘキサメチレンジアミン(b)の総量が、予備反応前の前記バインダー組成物の総重量に対して少なくとも60wt%である、請求項28に記載の方法。
- 前記出発物質中の少なくとも1種類の還元糖(a)およびヘキサメチレンジアミン(b)の総量が、予備反応前の前記バインダー組成物の総重量に対して少なくとも80wt%である、請求項28に記載の方法。
- 前記出発物質中の少なくとも1種類の還元糖(a)およびヘキサメチレンジアミン(b)の総量が、予備反応前の前記バインダー組成物の総重量に対して少なくとも95wt%である、請求項28に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1種類の還元糖(a)と前記ヘキサメチレンジアミン(b)との反応生成物(1種類または複数種)の総量が、予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して少なくとも20wt%である、請求項1〜32のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1種類の還元糖(a)と前記ヘキサメチレンジアミン(b)との反応生成物(1種類または複数種)の総量が、予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して少なくとも40wt%である、請求項33に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1種類の還元糖(a)と前記ヘキサメチレンジアミン(b)との反応生成物(1種類または複数種)の総量が、予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して少なくとも60wt%である、請求項33に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1種類の還元糖(a)と前記ヘキサメチレンジアミン(b)との反応生成物(1種類または複数種)の総量が、予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して少なくとも80wt%である、請求項33に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1種類の還元糖(a)と前記ヘキサメチレンジアミン(b)との反応生成物(1種類または複数種)の総量が、予備反応物型バインダー組成物の総重量に対して少なくとも95wt%である、請求項33に記載の方法。
