- 上流側排気管及びこの上流側排気管の管端部に対向して配置された管端部を有した下流側排気管のうちの一方の排気管の管端部に固着されたアウタケースと、上流側排気管及び下流側排気管のうちの他方の排気管の管端部に固着されていると共に、径方向においてアウタケースに隙間をもって対面するインナケースと、上流側において前記隙間に配されていると共に、アウタケースの内周面に対面した外周面及びこの外周面に対向し且つインナケースの外周面に対面した内周面を有した環状の第一シール体と、第一シール体よりも下流側において前記隙間に配されていると共に、アウタケースの内周面に対面した外周面及びこの外周面に対向し且つインナケースの外周面に対面した内周面を有した環状の第二シール体と、アウタケース及びインナケース間に配設されていると共に、第一シール体及び第二シール体を軸方向においてアウタケース及びインナケースのうちの一方に向かって弾性的に付勢している弾性付勢部材とを具備しており、第一シール体の外周面が凸球面状である場合には、アウタケースの内周面には、当該第一シール体の凸球面状の外周面に対面している凹球面状のシール座が形成されており、第一シール体の内周面が凹球面状である場合には、インナケースの外周面には、当該第一シール体の凹球面状の内周面に対面している凸球面状のシール座が形成されており、第二シール体の外周面が凸球面状である場合には、アウタケースの内周面には、当該第二シール体の凸球面状の外周面に対面している凹球面状のシール座が形成されており、第二シール体の内周面が凹球面状である場合には、インナケースの外周面には、当該第二シール体の凹球面状の内周面に対面している凸球面状のシール座が形成されており、アウタケースは、軸方向における一端で前記一方の排気管の管端部に固着された第一アウタケースと、軸方向における一端で第一アウタケースの軸方向における他端に連結されていると共に、軸方向における他端がインナケース又は前記他方の排気管に対して径方向の隙間をもって配されている第二アウタケースとを具備しており、第一アウタケースの他端には、環状の鍔部が形成されており、第二アウタケースの一端には、第一アウタケースの鍔部よりも軸方向において当該第一アウタケースの一端側に位置している環状の鍔部が形成されており、第一アウタケースの鍔部及び第二アウタケースの鍔部間には、弾性付勢部材が介在されている球面排気管継手。
- 弾性付勢部材は、環状のウエイブスプリングからなる請求項1に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 第一シール体の凸球面状の外周面若しくは凹球面状の内周面及び第二シール体の凸球面状の外周面若しくは凹球面状の内周面の夫々の球芯は同一であるか、又は異なっている請求項1又は2に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 弾性付勢部材は、軸方向において第一シール体及びインナケース間に介在されており、軸方向において第一シール体をアウタケースに向かって弾性的に付勢している請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 弾性付勢部材は、軸方向において第二シール体及びインナケース間に介在されており、軸方向において第二シール体をアウタケースに向かって弾性的に付勢している請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 弾性付勢部材は、軸方向において第一シール体及びアウタケース間に介在されており、軸方向において第一シール体をインナケースに向かって弾性的に付勢している請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 弾性付勢部材は、軸方向において第二シール体及びアウタケース間に介在されており、軸方向において第二シール体をインナケースに向かって弾性的に付勢している請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 第一アウタケースの他端の外周面及び内周面のうちの一方並びに第二アウタケースの一端の内周面及び外周面のうちの一方には、夫々互いに螺合している螺合部が形成されている請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 第一アウタケースの他端及び第二アウタケースの一端は、溶接されている請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 第一アウタケースの他端及び第二アウタケースの一端は、ボルト及びナットによって連結されている請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- インナケース及び当該インナケースが固着された前記他方の排気管間には、断熱用隙間が形成されている請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 径方向におけるインナケース及び当該インナケースが固着された前記他方の排気管間には、断熱材が介在されている請求項1から11のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 第一シール体及び第二シール体は、軸方向に直交する線において線対称である請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 第一シール体及び第二シール体の外周面が凸球面状であり、第一及び第二アウタケースの内周面には当該第一シール体及び第二シール体の凸球面状の外周面の夫々に対面している凹球面状のシール座が夫々形成されており、第一シール体の凸球面状の外周面に対面している凹球面状のシール座及び第二シール体の凸球面状の外周面に対面している凹球面状のシール座は、軸方向に直交する線において線対称である請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 第一シール体及び第二シール体のうちの少なくとも一方の外周面が凸球面状であり、第一及び第二アウタケースのうちの少なくとも一方の内周面には前記第一シール体及び第二シール体のうちの少なくとも一方の凸球面状の外周面に対面している凹球面状のシール座が形成されており、第一シール体及び第二シール体のうちの少なくとも一方の凸球面状の外周面は、その曲率半径が当該第一及び第二アウタケースのうちの少なくとも一方の内周面に形成された凹球面状のシール座の曲率半径よりも小さくなるように形成されている請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 第一シール体及び第二シール体の凸球面状の外周面は、固体潤滑剤を含む潤滑すべり層の露出面である請求項14又は15に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 第一シール体及び第二シール体の内周面が凹球面状であり、インナケースの外周面には当該第一シール体及び第二シール体の凹球面状の内周面の夫々に対面している凸球面状のシール座が形成されており、第一シール体の凹球面状の内周面に対面している凸球面状のシール座及び第二シール体の凹球面状の内周面に対面している凸球面状のシール座は、軸方向に直交する線において線対称である請求項1から16のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 第一シール体及び第二シール体のうちの少なくとも一方の内周面が凹球面状であり、インナケースの外周面には前記第一シール体及び第二シール体のうちの少なくとも一方の凹球面状の内周面に対面している凸球面状のシール座が形成されており、第一シール体及び第二シール体のうちの少なくとも一方の凹球面状の内周面は、その曲率半径が前記凸球面状のシール座の曲率半径よりも大きくなるように形成されている請求項1から16のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 第一シール体及び第二シール体の凹球面状の内周面は、固体潤滑剤を含む潤滑すべり層の露出面である請求項17又は18に記載の球面排気管継手。
- 第一シール体及び第二シール体は、膨張黒鉛、雲母または石綿等の耐熱材と、金属細線から形成された金網からなる補強材とを圧縮成形してなり、耐熱材が金網からなる補強材の隙間に配されてなる請求項1から19のいずれか一項に記載の球面排気管継手。
