Description
本出願は、米国特許仮出願第61/323,410号(2010年4月13日出願)及び米国特許出願第13/082,447号(2011年4月8日出願)の優先権を主張する。
本発明は、コンタクトレンズアイウェアに関し、より具体的には、着用されたときに瞳孔領域を覆うレンズの領域に配置される調光染料を有するコンタクトレンズに関し、該調光コンタクトレンズは、改善された美容上の外観及び改善された構造品質を有する。本発明はまた、かかる調光コンタクトレンズを製造するための方法、及びそのために使用される材料に関する。
図1aの方法に従って瞳孔用コンタクトレンズを獲得することの実行可能性を実証するために、ボールペン用インク20mgを、表2に列挙されるモノマー混合物であるモノマーB 1gに混合して染料含有瞳孔モノマーを模擬的に再現し、このモノマー混合物3mgを、フロントカーブ成形型10cの中心へと注入した。モノマー混合物の粘度は、〜3000CPであった。次に、モノマーAモノマー混合物80mgが、14cに示されるように、瞳孔モノマー混合物の上に注入された。モノマーAモノマー混合物の粘度は、〜300CPであった。その後、ベースカーブが配置され、成形型が閉じられ、窒素雰囲気において、Philips TL K 40W/03電球下で1.2〜1.8mW/cm2で、約55±5℃で25分間にわたり照射された。
本実施例では、透明モノマー外側領域は、表1のモノマー混合物Aであり、調光染料を含有する瞳孔モノマー混合物は、6%の調光染料と共に加えられた5%の追加PVP(ポリ(N−ビニルピロリドン))K90を併せたモノマー混合物Aに基づいた。追加PVP K90は、モノマー混合物Aの粘度を、〜300CPから〜1200CPへと変化させ、この変化は中心の光学区域が調光染料を含むよう維持するのに十分であった。
本実験では、透明モノマー領域は、モノマーBモノマー混合物から形成され、瞳孔領域は、調光染料を併せたモノマーB材料から形成された。しかしながら、本実験では、希釈剤成分モノマーBモノマー混合物の濃度を45%へと変化させることによって、粘度が調節された。透明領域内の45%希釈剤は、t−アミルアルコール40%及びデカン酸60%からなり、一方、瞳孔モノマー混合物内の45%希釈剤は、デカン酸100%であった。本実験では、希釈剤を修正することによって、調光瞳孔領域の中心位置付けが、光学区域の中心領域内に十分に収まった。この追加の変更により、内側(瞳孔)領域と外側(透明)領域との間で粘度の差異は〜1800cPとなり、また、良好な光学が獲得されるように、2つの領域における水和したレンズの膨張の適合が提供された。
反応混合物が、表3に列挙される成分及び希釈剤(D30)から形成された(成分77重量%:D30 23重量%)(反応混合物C)。
式IIの調光染料
実施例6に従うが、下の表7の列2及び列3に列挙される調光モノマー混合物及び透明モノマー混合物を使用して、レンズが製造された。調光モノマー混合物は、6重量%の式IIの調光化合物と、希釈剤として45重量%のデカン酸とを含んだ。
(1) 調光ヒドロゲルコンタクトレンズを製造するための方法であって、
第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物を、前側コンタクトレンズ成形型部品に注入することであって、前記第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物が、少なくとも1つのコンタクトレンズモノマー及び調光材料を含む、ことと、
第2のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物を、前記コンタクトレンズ成形型部品へ前記第1の組成物の上に注入することであって、前記第1の組成物が、前記第2のコンタクトレンズ組成物の粘度より大きい粘度を有する、ことと、
第2の成形型部品を、前記第1の成形型部品に近接して位置付け、それによって、レンズ空洞を、前記レンズ空洞内に前記第1のレンズ組成物及び前記第2の組成物がある状態で形成し、前記第1の組成物及び前記第2の組成物を硬化し、設計上のサジタルデプスの約100マイクロメートル以内の実際のサジタルデプスを有する前記ヒドロゲルコンタクトレンズを形成することと、を含む、方法。
(2) 前記第2のコンタクトレンズ組成物が、前記第1の組成物の周りに環状に注入される、実施態様1に記載の方法。
(3) ベースカーブ成形型が、実質的に前記第1のレンズ組成物及び前記第2のレンズ組成物が一緒に合流するときに、フロントカーブ成形型上に配置される、実施態様2に記載の方法。
(4) 前記第1の組成物が、第1のコンタクトレンズモノマー、調光材料、及び第1の平衡モノマーを含み、前記第2のレンズ組成物が、コンタクトレンズモノマー及び第2の平衡モノマーを含み、その結果、前記第1の平衡モノマー及び前記第2の平衡モノマーを含むことにより、前記第1のレンズ組成物及び前記第2のレンズ組成物の実質的に同様の膨張係数をもたらす、実施態様1に記載の方法。
(5) 前記第1の組成物が、前記第2のレンズ組成物の粘度より少なくとも約1000cp大きい粘度を有する、実施態様1に記載の方法。
(6) 前記調光材料が、少なくとも1つの重合性基を含む、実施態様1に記載の方法。
(7) 前記重合性基のうちの1つがメタクリレート基である、実施態様6に記載の方法。
(8) 前記調光材料が、下記の1、2、3、及び4からなる群から選択される一般構造のうちの1つを有するベンゾピラン及びナフトピランからなる群から選択され、式中、R3及びR4は、結合してスピロ複素環基を形成しない、実施態様1に記載の方法。
(10) ヒドロゲルコンタクトレンズであって、
前面カーブとベース面カーブとを有する本体を備え、前記前面カーブが、瞳孔領域と外側領域とを有し、前記瞳孔領域が、調光性であり、かつ前記外側領域と同心であり、前記ヒドロゲルコンタクトレンズは、設計上のサジタルデプスの100マイクロメートル以内の中心サジタルデプスを有する、ヒドロゲルコンタクトレンズ。
(12) 前記瞳孔領域が直径約9mm以下である、実施態様10に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
(13) 前記瞳孔領域が約4〜約7mmの直径を有する、実施態様10に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
Claims (13)
- 調光ヒドロゲルコンタクトレンズを製造するための方法であって、
第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物を、前側コンタクトレンズ成形型部品に注入することであって、前記第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物が、少なくとも1つのコンタクトレンズモノマー及び調光材料を含む、ことと、
第2のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物を、前記前側コンタクトレンズ成形型部品へ前記第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物の上に注入することであって、前記第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物が、前記第2のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物の粘度より大きい粘度を有する、ことと、
第2の成形型部品を、前記前側コンタクトレンズ成形型部品に近接して位置付け、それによって、レンズ空洞を、前記レンズ空洞内に前記第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物及び前記第2のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物がある状態で形成し、前記第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物及び前記第2のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物を硬化し、設計上のサジタルデプスの100マイクロメートル以内の実際のサジタルデプスを有する前記ヒドロゲルコンタクトレンズを形成することと、を含み、
前記第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物から形成されるポリマーの線膨張係数と前記第2のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物から形成されるポリマーの線膨張係数との差が10%以内である、方法。 - 前記第2のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物が、前記第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物の周りに環状に注入される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の成形型部品が、実質的に前記第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物及び前記第2のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物が一緒に合流するときに、前記前側コンタクトレンズ成形型部品上に配置される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物が、第1の平衡モノマーをさらに含み、前記第2のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物が、前記少なくとも1つのコンタクトレンズモノマーと同じまたは異なるコンタクトレンズモノマー及び第2の平衡モノマーを含み、その結果、前記第1の平衡モノマー及び前記第2の平衡モノマーを含むことにより、前記第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物及び前記第2のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物の実質的に同様の線膨張係数をもたらす、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物が、前記第2のヒドロゲルレンズ組成物の粘度より少なくとも1000cp大きい粘度を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記調光材料が、少なくとも1つの重合性基を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記重合性基のうちの1つがメタクリレート基である、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記調光材料が、ベンゾピラン及びナフトピランからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ヒドロゲルコンタクトレンズが光放射線によって硬化される、請求項1に記載の方法。

前面カーブとベース面カーブとを有する本体を備え、前記前面カーブが、瞳孔領域と外側領域とを有し、前記瞳孔領域が、調光性であり、かつ前記外側領域と同心であり、
前記瞳孔領域が、瞳孔モノマー組成物を含み、前記外側領域が、実質的に透明なモノマー組成物を含み、前記瞳孔モノマー組成物は、調光染料を含有し、かつ前記透明なモノマー組成物よりもより高い粘度を有し、
前記瞳孔モノマー組成物から形成されるポリマーの線膨張係数と前記透明なモノマー組成物から形成されるポリマーの線膨張係数との差が10%以内であり、
前記ヒドロゲルコンタクトレンズは、設計上のサジタルデプスの100マイクロメートル以内の中心サジタルデプスを有する、ヒドロゲルコンタクトレンズ。 - 前記瞳孔モノマー組成物は、前記透明なモノマー組成物より少なくとも1000cp高い、より高い粘度を有する、請求項10に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
- 前記瞳孔領域が直径9mm以下である、請求項10に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
- 前記瞳孔領域が4〜7mmの直径を有する、請求項10に記載のコンタクトレンズ。
