Abstract

Reivindicacion 1: Un método para hacer lentes de contacto de hidrogel de silicon a color, que comprende los pasos de: (a) proporcionar un molde para moldear una cubierta, en donde el molde incluye una superficie de moldeo con calidad optica, en donde la superficie e moldeo define una de las superficies posterior y anterior de un lente de contacto de hidrogel de silicon; (b) aplicar un recubrimiento de color a por lo menos una porcion de la superficie de moldeo del molde con una tinta, en donde la tinta comprende por lo menos un colorante y un aglutinante de polímero conteniendo silicon; (c) curar el recubrimiento de color para formar una película de color, la cual está en contacto con la superficie de moldeo pero no está covalentemente unida a la superficie de moldeo, (d) llenar el molde con un material de fluido formador del lente que comprende por lo menos un monomero o macromero vinílico que contiene silicon y por lo menos un monomero vinílico hidrofílico; (e) dejar que el material formador del lente remoje la película de color durante un tiempo suficiente, de manera que una porcion del material formador del lente penetre en el espacio entre la película de color y la superficie de moldeo mientras separa parcial o completamente la película de color de la superficie de moldeo; (f) curar el material formador del lente en el molde para formar una cubierta que tiene una superficie moldeada que corresponde a una de las superficies anterior y posterior del lente de contacto, en donde la cubierta incluye la película de color inmovilizada en el mismo y/o sobre el mismo; (g) remover la cubierta del molde; curar y/o secar posteriormente la cubierta durante un tiempo suficientemente largo para incrementar la capacidad de torneado a temperatura ambiente e la cubierta; y (h) tornear directamente la cubierta sobre el lado opuesto a la superficie moldeada para formar la superficie anterior o posterior.
