Claims (23)
- 光を受光するための第1端部を有すると共にその長さに沿って光の伝播をサポートするように構成された光導波路と、
前記光導波路の第1側面上に配置されていると共に前記第1側面上に入射する光の方向を変更させて前記光導波路の前記第1側面に対向する第2側面へ該光を導くように構成され、且つ複数の凹部を備えるターニング微細構造と、
前記光導波路に物理的に結合すると共に前記ターニング微細構造上に配置されたカバーと、
前記カバーを前記光導波路に物理的に結合すると共に前記カバーと前記光導波路との間に位置し、且つ35dynes/cm未満の表面エネルギーを有する中間層と、
前記中間層と前記複数の凹部との間の複数の開放領域と、
を備え、
前記光導波路は、第1の屈折率を有し、
前記中間層は、第2の屈折率を有し、
前記第2の屈折率は、前記第1の屈折率より低い、照明装置。 - 前記複数の凹部は、複数のV形溝を備え、
前記開放領域は、実質的に三角形断面を備える、請求項1に記載の照明装置。 - 前記複数の凹部は、複数の溝を備え、
前記開放領域は、実質的に台形の断面を備える、請求項1に記載の照明装置。 - 前記ターニング微細構造は、回折格子を備える、請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記複数の開放領域は、前記中間層と前記ターニング微細構造との間に保持されている、請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記光導波路は、基板を備え、
前記ターニング微細構造は、前記基板上に直接形成されている、請求項1に記載の照明装置。 - 前記光導波路は、基板とターニングフィルムとを備え、
前記ターニング微細構造は、前記ターニングフィルムの上に形成されている、請求項1に記載の照明装置。 - 前記中間層の厚さは、前記ターニング微細構造の凹部の高さより少ない、請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記中間層は、200℃未満のガラス転移点を有する硬化ポリマー材料を含む、請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記中間層は、25dynes/cm未満の表面エネルギーを有する、請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記中間層は、エラストマー材料を含む、請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記中間層は、シロキサン・バックボーンを含む、請求項11に記載の照明装置。
- 前記中間層は、ポリプロピレン、又はポリイソブチレンを含む、請求項11に記載の照明装置。
- 前記カバーは、グレア防止膜、静電気防止フィルム、防汚フィルム、カラーフィルタ又はタッチパネルを更に備える、請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記光導波路の前記第2側面と前記複数のディスプレイ素子との間に低い屈折率を有する光学層を更に備える、請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 前記開放領域は、空気で充填されている、請求項1に記載の照明装置。
- 光を受光するための第1端部を有すると共にその長さ方向に沿って光の伝播をサポートするように構成された光導波路であって、該光導波路の第1側面に配置されていると共に前記第1側面上に入射する光の方向を変更させて前記光導波路の前記第1側面に対向する第2側面へ該光を導くように構成され、且つ複数の凹部を備えるターニング微細構造を有する光導波路を形成する段階と、
前記ターニング微細構造上に配置されるカバーを形成する段階と、
35dynes/cm未満の表面エネルギーを有する中間層によって前記カバーを前記光導波路に物理的に結合して、複数の開放領域を前記中間層と前記複数の凹部の間に位置させる段階と、
を備え、
前記光導波路は、第1の屈折率を有し、
前記中間層は、第2の屈折率を有し、
前記第2の屈折率は、前記第1の屈折率より低い、照明装置の製造方法。 - 前記中間層が25dynes/cm未満の表面エネルギーを有する、請求項17に記載の照明装置の製造方法。
- 前記中間層がエラストマー材料を含む、請求項17に記載の照明装置の製造方法。
- 前記中間層の厚さは、前記ターニング微細構造内の凹部の高さの1/10である、請求項17に記載の照明装置の製造方法。
- 光を受光するための第1端部を有すると共にその長さに沿って光の伝播をサポートするように構成された光導波路と、
前記光導波路の第1側面上に配置されていると共に前記第1側面上に入射する光の方向を変更させて前記光導波路の前記第1側面に対向する第2側面へ該光を導くように構成され、且つ複数の凹部を備えるターニング微細構造と、
前記光導波路に物理的に結合されると共に、前記ターニング微細構造上に配置された、カバーと、
前記カバーを前記光導波路に物理的に結合させて、前記カバーと前記光導波路とを物理
的に結合させると共に35dynes/cm未満の表面エネルギーを有する結合手段と、
前記結合手段と前記複数の凹部との間の複数の開放領域と、
を備え、
前記光導波路は、第1の屈折率を有し、
前記結合手段は、第2の屈折率を有し、
前記第2の屈折率は、前記第1の屈折率より低い、照明装置。 - 前記結合手段が、中間層を備える、請求項21に記載の照明装置。
- 前記カバーが、グレア防止膜、静電気防止フィルム、防汚フィルム、カラーフィルタ又はタッチパネルを更に備える、請求項22に記載の照明装置。
