本明細書の脱臭剤組成物は、約0.005重量%〜約2重量%、又は約0.01重量%〜約1重量%、又は約0.05重量%〜約0.5重量%の、銅、亜鉛、銀、白金、ニッケル、鉄、コバルト、銅化合物、亜鉛化合物、銀化合物、白金化合物、ニッケル化合物、鉄化合物、コバルト化合物、及びこれらの混合物から選択される金属系脱臭剤を含む。金属又は金属化合物は、イオウ含有化学物質と反応することにより、生活環境、特に化粧室において一般的であるイオウ型の悪臭の脱臭において有効であることが既知である。しかしながら、本明細書で上述したように、脱臭性能を改善するためには脱臭剤組成物中に高濃度の金属又は金属化合物を配合することが望ましく、この場合ゲル脱臭剤組成物中の金属化合物の濃度は2%よりも高いが、ゲル脱臭剤組成物は濃い青のような魅力的でない色及びまた貧弱な色の完全性をも有することになる。一方、ゲル脱臭剤組成物中の金属又は金属化合物の濃度が0.005%未満である場合には、脱臭剤組成物は満足な脱臭性能を与えない。
本明細書で使用するとき、「カルボキシル基含有ゲル化ポリマー」とは、カルボキシレート又はカルボン酸の単位を含むポリマーを意味し、このポリマーは水及び/又は他の溶媒のような液体媒体を吸収すると膨潤してゲルを形成する。ゲルは典型的にはコロイドであるとみなされ、そこでは、分散された相が分散媒体と組み合わされてゼリーのような半固体物質を生成している。消費者が好む脱臭剤製品形態として、ゲルは脱臭剤製品の他の構成成分の担体として使用される。更に、本明細書におけるカルボキシル基含有ゲル化ポリマーはまた、そこに含有されているカルボキシル基がアミン型の悪臭の原因である化合物中のアミン基と反応するため、脱臭活性剤の役割をも果たす場合がある。

予め形成された4mm×4mm×5mmの直方体形状を有する架橋されたポリアクリル酸ゲル化ポリマーのナトリウム塩5gを容器中にて調製する。表1に記載された成分を高剪断ミキサーを用いて攪拌し均質化することにより前混合してプレミックスを得る。このプレミックスをゲル化ポリマーを含む容器中に加え、この混合物を一晩保持することによってゲル化ポリマーにプレミックスを吸収させる。次いで直方体形状及び600mm2〜680mm2の表面積を有する脱臭剤組成物を得る。脱臭剤組成物は薄い青色を有する。
Claims (9)
- 脱臭剤であって、
(i)0.005重量%〜2重量%の、銅化合物、亜鉛化合物、銀化合物、白金化合物、ニッケル化合物、鉄化合物、コバルト化合物、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される脱臭性金属化合物と、
(ii)0.5重量%〜40重量%の、カルボキシル基含有ゲル化ポリマーと、
(iii)50重量%〜95重量%の、水、油、アルコール、およびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される液体媒体と、
(iv)1重量%〜40重量%の、アクリル酸と、アミノ基を含むアクリレートまたはメタクリレートとの脱臭性コポリマーと、
を含み、
ブロック形状、球形、楕円形、円錐形、及び円筒形からなる群から選択される三次元形状を有し、前記三次元形状は、24mm2〜2400mm2の表面積を有する、脱臭剤。 - 前記脱臭性金属化合物は、塩化銅、硫酸銅、炭酸銅、塩化亜鉛、硫酸亜鉛、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される請求項1に記載の脱臭剤。
- 前記カルボキシル基含有ゲル化ポリマーは、部分的に中和された架橋ポリアクリル酸である請求項1に記載の脱臭剤。
- 前記液体媒体は、水である請求項1に記載の脱臭剤。
- 前記三次元形状は、立方体、直方体、平行六面体、及び斜四角柱からなる群から選択されるブロック形状である請求項1に記載の脱臭剤。
- 前記脱臭性ポリマーは、アルドヘキソース、グルコース、デンプン、セルロース、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される基材上にグラフト化されている請求項1に記載の脱臭剤。
- 前記脱臭剤は、香料、染料、安定剤、UV吸収剤、防腐剤、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される補助物質を含む請求項1に記載の脱臭剤。
- パッケージ中に入れられた請求項1の脱臭剤の個々の塊を複数含む脱臭剤製品。
- 請求項1の脱臭剤を製造するためのプロセスであって、
A.容器中で予め形成された三次元形状を有するゲル化ポリマーを調製する工程と、
B.前記脱臭剤のあらゆる他の成分を前混合し均質化してプレミックスを形成する工程と、
C.前記プレミックスを、前記ゲル化ポリマーを含む容器中に加え、その混合物を一晩保持する工程と、を含み、
前記ゲル化ポリマーの前記予め形成された三次元形状は、ブロック形状、球形、楕円形、円錐形、及び円筒形から選択され、
前記ゲル化ポリマーと前記プレミックスとの重量比は1:200〜1:1である、プロセス。
