Description
本発明は、ベンズオキサジン樹脂;および、ビスフェノールAジグリシジルエーテルおよびビスフェノールSを基体とする改良樹脂(advancement resin);ならびに、場合によっては、フェロセンおよびアルミニウム3水和物をも含む組成物に関する。このような組成物は、硬化して、難燃性かつ耐熱性の高分子ネットワークを形成することができる。
FR-4 PCBラミネートは、印刷回路基板に最も一般的に使用されている基礎材料である。“FR”は、(UL94V-0に対する)難燃性を意味し、タイプ“4”は、樹脂を含むガラス強化エポキシ織物を指す。また、FR-4ラミネートは、はんだ浴試験に合格する必要がある。樹脂を難燃性にするためには、臭素、リン、塩素含有化合物、充填剤の添加または特殊な難燃性骨格の使用が必要である。しかし、特に臭素またはリン化合物を基体とする組成物を難燃性とするこのような解決策は、原則として、1つまたは幾つかの欠点を有する:
−これらは、溶剤に不溶性であり、したがって、加工条件にて問題を生ずる。
−これらは、高温で酸化安定性に乏しい。
−添加剤がガラス転移レベルの低下の原因となることが非常に多い。
−硬化された樹脂の物理的特性(例えば、離層)が非常に乏しいことが、特にリン化合物が存在する時に、観測される。
−燃焼の場合、特にハロゲン化された化合物が存在する時、毒性の燃焼ガスが形成されかねない。
さて、驚くべきことに、ベンズオキサジン樹脂;および、ビスフェノールAジグリシジルエーテルおよびビスフェノールSを基体とする改良樹脂を含み;場合によっては、フェロセンおよびアルミニウム3水和物をも含む組成物から製造される物品が、機械的特性を維持しつつ、燃焼性を著しく低下させることが見出された。ベンズオキサジン樹脂;および、ビスフェノールAジグリシジルエーテルおよびビスフェノールSを基体とする改良樹脂を含む組成物は、前記改良樹脂を含有しない組成物と比較してプレスサイクルを短くし、かつ、プレス温度を低下させるというさらなる利点を生ずる。このような組成物は、したがって、航空宇宙産業、工業、電子技術またはその他の用途、例えば、PWB、銅クラッドラミネート、プリプレグ、液体誘電層用のラミネート、金属箔、好ましくは、銅上の塗膜、RCCおよび注型システムに使用するのに特に適している。これらは、また、注入技術、例えば、RTMまたはVaRTMを使用することによって加工することもできる。
[課題を解決するための手段]
本発明の第1の態様は、
(a) ベンズオキサジン樹脂;および、
(b) ビスフェノールAジグリシジルエーテルおよびビスフェノールSを基体とする改良樹脂;
を含む組成物である。
ここで、星印は、分子の残りへの結合点を表す。このようなベンズオキサジンは、幾つかの方法で製造することができる。先ず第1に、US 5,152,993またはUS 5,266,695に見られるように、溶剤に基づく方法を使用することによる。第2に、例えば、US 5,543,516に記載されているように、ベンズオキサジンの製造は、溶剤を使用しないで開示されている。
式中、Rは、-SO2-、-S-、-CH2-、-C(CH3)2-、結合、ジシクロペンタジエニルジフェノール、フェノールフタレインまたは-CH(CH3)-であり;
R1は、フェニルまたはC1-C10-アルキルである。
成分(b):ビスフェノール-Aおよび4,4’-ジヒドロキシジフェニルスルホンのジグリシジルエーテルを基体とする改良樹脂は、EP 0077758に記載されている処理操作に類似して製造することができる。好ましいビスフェノール-Aエポキシ樹脂は、エポキシ価5〜6Eq/kgを有する。好ましい改良樹脂は、エポキシ価1.5〜2.5Eq/kgを有する。典型的には、組成物は、35〜45重量%、好ましくは、40重量%の改良樹脂を含有するであろう。
(a) ベンズオキサジン樹脂;
(b) ビスフェノールAジグリシジルエーテルおよびビスフェノールSを基体とする改良樹脂;
(c) フェロセン;
(d) アルミニウム3水和物;および、
(e) 場合によっては、溶剤;
を含む。
典型的には、組成物は、成分(a)、(b)、(c)および(e)の合計基準で、23〜30重量%、好ましくは、27重量%の改良樹脂を含有するであろう。
本発明のもう1つの態様は、上記したように、難燃性注型物、プリプレグまたはラミネートおよび注入システムの製造プロセスにおけるベンズオキサジン化合物の満足する使用である。
上記したようにして製造される高分子樹脂の特性は、通常の添加剤の添加によってある種の用途にあつらえることができる。以下の添加剤が特に重要である:
強化繊維、例えば、ガラス、石英、炭素、無機および合成繊維(Keflar,Nomex)、短繊維の通常の形態の天然繊維、例えば、(亜麻、ジュート、サイザル麻、大麻)、ステープルファイバ、糸、布帛またはマット;
可塑剤;
充填材;
染料;
ミクロ中空球;
金属粉末。
溶剤基体の含浸プロセス
(1) ベンズオキサジン含有配合物は、ローリング、浸漬、噴霧、その他の公知の技術および/またはそれらの組み合わせによって、基板に塗被または含浸される。基板は、典型的には、例えば、ガラス繊維または紙を含有する織布または不織布繊維マットである。
(4) 積み上げたシートは、樹脂を硬化させかつラミネートを形成するのに十分な時間、高温および高圧でプレスする。この積層工程の温度は、通常、100℃〜230℃であり、165℃〜190℃が最も多い。積層工程は、また、2つ以上の段階、例えば、100℃〜150℃の第1段階および165℃〜190℃の第2段階で実施するのがよい。圧力は、通常、50N/cm2〜500N/cm2である。積層工程は、通常、1分〜200分、最も多くは、45分〜90分実施される。積層工程は、場合によっては、高温で短時間(例えば、連続積層法にて)実施されるかまたは長時間低温(例えば、低エネルギープレス法)で実施される。
全ての試験は、IPC TM 650に従い行った。
IPC試験法は、以下のような、電気的ラミネート工業標準(The Institute For interconnection and Packaging Electronic Circuit,3451 Church Street,Evanston,Illinois 60203)である:
攪拌器、還流冷却器、温度計および固形物添加ロートを備えたフラスコに、ビスフェノールAエポキシ樹脂(エポキシ価=5.55Eq/kg,MW:340)462gを装填する。(フラスコの内部温度が)100℃に到達した後、ビスフェノールS60gを添加する。その反応混合物を、155℃〜160℃の温度に到達するまで、40分間攪拌下溶解させる。
その反応混合物を冷却し、続いて、メチルエチルケトンとブレンドして、固形含有率70%とする。
(B) ラミネート
溶剤含浸プロセスにより、ベンズオキサジン繊維ガラスラミネート複合体を製造する。
積層条件:
温度 190〜200℃
保持時間 >60分
ラミネートについての所定のプレス温度下、ラミネートについての以下のガラス転移温度を生ずる:
Claims (1)
- (a) 成分(a)、(b)、(c)および(e)の合計を基準として35〜42重量%のベンズオキサジン樹脂、
(b) 成分(a)、(b)、(c)および(e)の合計を基準として23〜30重量%の、ビスフェノールAジグリシジルエーテルおよびビスフェノールSを基体とし、エポキシ価が1.5〜2.5Eq/kgである改良樹脂;
(c) 成分(a)、(b)、(c)および(e)の合計を基準として1.8〜2.3重量%のフェロセン;
(d) 成分(a)、(b)、(c)、(d)および(e)の合計を基準として25〜45重量%のアルミニウム3水和物;および、
(e) 成分(a)、(b)、(c)および(e)の合計を基準として25〜35重量%の溶剤;
を含む組成物であって、成分(a)が、式(II):
で表される化合物である、上記組成物。
