なお、本発明は、従来からバックライト用蛍光ランプとして用いられている冷陰極蛍光ランプ(cold cathode fluorescent lamp)のほか熱陰極蛍光ランプ(hot cathode fluorescent lamp)用としても好適に使用できる。
Claims (5)
- TiO2を実質的に含有せず、質量%で、CeO2 0.1〜5%、Fe2O3 0.005〜0.1%、SnO+SnO2 0.01〜5%、ZrO2+ZnO 0.1〜10%を含有し、ガラス中の全Ceイオンに対するCe4+イオンの存在比が10%以下であり、JIS R3102に定める0〜300℃の範囲の平均線膨張係数が36〜57×10−7/℃であり質量%でSiO 2 60〜80%、Al 2 O 3 1〜7%、B 2 O 3 10〜25%、Li 2 O+Na 2 O+K 2 O 3〜15%、CaO+MgO+BaO+SrO 0〜5%を含有する硼珪酸系ガラスからなり、
波長315nmにおける肉厚0.3mmでの透過率が10%以下であることを特徴とする蛍光ランプ用紫外線吸収ガラス。 - 請求項1記載の蛍光ランプ用紫外線吸収ガラスにおいて、
前記蛍光ランプ用紫外線吸収ガラスが、質量比で、CeO2/(SnO+SnO2)≦10の関係を満たすものであることを特徴とする蛍光ランプ用紫外線吸収ガラス。 - 請求項1または2記載の蛍光ランプ用紫外線吸収ガラスにおいて、
両面を鏡面光学研磨した肉厚1mmのガラスの研磨面を主波長253.7nmの400W高圧水銀ランプから20cmの位置に対向させて配置し、300時間紫外線を照射した後、波長400nmにおける透過率(T1)を測定し、紫外線照射前の波長400nmにおける初期透過率(T0)からの劣化の度合を次式により求めた紫外線照射試験における劣化度が5%以下であることを特徴とする蛍光ランプ用紫外線吸収ガラス。
劣化度(%)=[(T0−T1)/T0]×100 - 請求項1または2記載の紫外線吸収ガラスを管状に成形してなる蛍光ランプ用ガラス管。
- 請求項4記載の蛍光ランプ用ガラス管において、
ガラス管の外径が2〜30mm、肉厚が0.1〜0.8mmであり、液晶表示デバイスのバックライト光源に用いられることを特徴とする蛍光ランプ用ガラス管。
