Claims (5)
- 幾何学的圧縮比が13.0以上であって、火花点火式のレシプロエンジンにおいて、
ピストンの中心軸と直交する方向に、吸気弁、点火プラグ及び排気弁が順に設けられ、
前記ピストンの上面は、前記吸気弁側及び前記排気弁側からその中央に向かって隆起していると共に、凹部が設けられ、
前記ピストンの上面に相対するシリンダヘッドの天井面は、前記ピストン上面の隆起に対応して、前記吸気弁側及び前記排気弁側のそれぞれから中央に向かって、所定角度をなすように傾斜しており、
前記ピストンが上死点にあるときに前記ピストンの上面と前記シリンダヘッドの天井面との間に所定の隙間が形成されることによって燃焼室が形成され、
前記ピストンが上死点にある場合の前記燃焼室の容積をV1(mm3)、前記点火プラグの点火点を中心とする半径rの仮想球体のうち、前記ピストンが上死点にある場合において前記燃焼室を画定する燃焼室内壁と干渉しない非干渉部分の容積をV2(mm3)、前記ピストンが上死点にある場合において前記仮想球体が前記燃焼室内壁と干渉する干渉面の面積をS(mm2)、とした場合であって、
前記半径rを、
V2=0.15×V1
となるように設定した場合に、
前記ピストンが前記仮想球体と干渉しないと共に、
S/V2≦0.12(mm−1)
となるように前記燃焼室が形成されたことを特徴とするレシプロエンジン。 - 前記凹部を前記点火点の下方に設けたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のレシプロエンジン。
- 前記半径rを、
V2=0.15×V1
となるように設定した場合に、
S/V2≦0.10(mm−1)
となるように前記燃焼室が形成されたことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のレシプロエンジン。 - 幾何学的圧縮比が14.0以上であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のレシプロエンジン。
- 幾何学的圧縮比が14.5以上であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のレシプロエンジン。
