図1は、本発明の第1実施形態に係る火花点火式内燃機関の構成を示す概略図である。図2は、前記内燃機関のピストン、燃料噴射弁及び点火プラグを示す斜視図である。図1及び図2に示すように、本発明の第1実施形態に係る火花点火式内燃機関としてのエンジン1は、複数のシリンダ2が列状に配置された多気筒のガソリンエンジンであり、自動車等の車両に搭載され、シリンダ2が形成されたシリンダブロック3と、シリンダ2上に配設されるシリンダヘッド4とを備えている。
図6は、ピストンの斜視図、図7は、ピストンの平面図、図8は、図7におけるY8−Y8線に沿ったピストンの断面図、図9は、図7におけるY9−Y9線に沿ったピストンの断面図、図10は、図7におけるY10−Y10線に沿ったピストンの断面図である。
図12は、本発明の第2実施形態に係る火花点火式内燃機関のピストンの斜視図、図13は、前記内燃機関のピストンの平面図、図14は、図13におけるY14−Y14線に沿ったピストンの断面図、図15は、図13におけるY15−Y15線に沿ったピストンの断面図である。本発明の第2実施形態に係る火花点火式内燃機関としてのエンジン51は、第1実施形態に係るエンジン1とピストンの頂面及びシリンダヘッド4の天井面12の形状が異なるものであり、エンジン1と同様の構成については同一符号を付して説明を省略する。

Claims (3)
- シリンダと、前記シリンダ内に往復動可能に配置されたピストンと、前記シリンダ上に配設されると共に前記シリンダの内周面及び前記ピストンの頂面と共にペントルーフ型の燃焼室を形成する天井面を有するシリンダヘッドと、前記燃焼室に臨むように前記シリンダヘッドの前記天井面の中央部に配設された点火プラグとを備え、前記ピストンの頂面に前記シリンダの中心軸と直交するベース面に対して前記シリンダヘッドの天井面に沿った吸気側傾斜面及び排気側傾斜面を有する隆起部と、この吸気側及び排気側にそれぞれ前記ベース面である吸気側水平面及び排気側水平面が設けられると共に、前記隆起部に前記点火プラグに対応して下方に窪むキャビティが設けられた火花点火式内燃機関であって、
前記シリンダヘッドに、前記燃焼室内にタンブル流を生成するように吸気ポートが設けられ、
前記キャビティは、前記点火プラグの点火点を中心とする球面の少なくとも一部を形成しており、
前記隆起部は、前記吸気側傾斜面と前記排気側傾斜面との間に、前記ピストンの中央側に前記ベース面と平行に前記キャビティの周縁部に設けられた上面をさらに有し、
前記吸気側傾斜面及び前記排気側傾斜面は、前記ピストンの中心軸を通ってクランク軸の軸方向と直交する直交面において前記吸気側傾斜面の長さに対する前記排気側傾斜面の長さの割合が1.25以上であるように形成されており、
前記吸気側傾斜面及び前記排気側傾斜面の長さはそれぞれ、これらの傾斜面と前記吸気側水平面及び前記排気側水平面との境界縁部と、これらの傾斜面と前記上面との境界縁部との間の長さである、
ことを特徴とする火花点火式内燃機関。 - 前記吸気側傾斜面及び前記排気側傾斜面は、前記排気側傾斜面の傾斜角度が前記吸気側傾斜面の傾斜角度よりも小さくなるように形成されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の火花点火式内燃機関。 - 前記吸気側傾斜面及び前記排気側傾斜面は、前記割合が1.9以下であるように形成されている、
