Description
SPEX 8000Dミキサーミルを用いてボールミリング処理に付すことにより、活性カソード複合体を調製した。内容積約64cm3の硬化鋼ミリングバイアルを使用した。一般的には、2個の直径0.5インチ硬化鋼ボールを反応物と一緒にミリングバイアルに添加した。
次のようにヘリウム充填グローブボックス中でLi2S含有カソードを作製した。活性カソード材料(以下に記載されているように調製した)200mg、カイナー・フレックス(Kynar Flex)2801(アトケム(Atochem)から市販されているフッ化ビニリデン−ヘキサフルオロプロピレンコポリマー)の10%N−メチルピロリジノン溶液260mg、スーパー(Super)Sカーボンブラック(ベルギーのエムエムエム・カーボン(MMM Carbon,Belgium)から市販されている)25mg、および追加のN−メチルピロリジノン600mgを、小さいガラスバイアル中で黄銅ロッドにより5分間一緒に混合し、スラリーを形成した。0.43mmの間隙を有するドクターブレードを用いてガラスプレート上にスラリーを展開してから、部分的に減圧された予備チャンバー(10kPaのHe)中に12時間配置し、N−メチルピロリジノンを除去した。次に、得られた乾燥フィルムをガラスから掻き取り、粉砕し、1.3GPaの圧力でプレスして直径1.3cmのペレットにすることにより、カソードを形成した。その後、カソードをアルゴン充填グローブボックス中に入れて、その中で電気化学セルを組み立てた。
銅ターゲットX線管および回折ビームモノクロメーターを備えたシーメンス(Siemens)D5000回折計を用いて、各サンプルの粉末X線回折パターンを収集した。シェラー式および測定された回折線の幅を用いて、粒度を推定した。気密サンプルホルダー中においてヘリウム下でサンプルの測定を行った。アール・ジェイ・ヒル(R.J.Hill)およびシー・ジェイ・ハワード(C.J.Howard)著,固定波長X線および中性子粉末回折パターンのリートフェルト解析用プログラムLHPM1版(Program for Rietveld Analysis of Fixed Wavelength X−ray and Neutron Powder Diffraction Patterns−Version LHPM 1),AAEC(オーストラリアのルーカス・ハイツ・リサーチ・ラボラトリーズ(Lucas Heights Research Laboratories,Australia));応用結晶学誌(J.Appl.Cryst.),第18巻,p.173(1985年)に記載されているようなリートフェルト改良プログラムを用いて、データを解析した。
2個の0.5インチボールベアリングを内蔵した64ml硬化鋼バイアルに、ヘリウム雰囲気下で、Li2O(97%,アルドリッチ・ケミカル(Aldrich Chemical)から入手可能)とFe(99.98%,アルドリッチ・ケミカル(Aldrich Chemical)から入手可能)との混合物3.3gを充填した。Li2O対Feのモル比1:1を使用した。バイアルをシールし、次に、連続的に16時間ミリング処理に付すことによりLi2O/Fe複合体を生成させた。

Claims (4)
- (a)(i)50ナノメートル以下の粒度を有する遷移金属粒子と、
(ii)50ナノメートル以下の粒度を有する、酸化リチウム、硫化リチウム、ハロゲン化リチウム、およびそれらの組合せからなる群より選択されるリチウム含有粒子と、
を含む粒子を有するカソードと、
(b)リチウム金属以外のアノードと、
(c)電解質と、
を備える、リチウムイオンバッテリー。 - (a)(i)50ナノメートル以下の粒度を有する遷移金属粒子と、
(ii)50ナノメートル以下の粒度を有する、硫化リチウム、ハロゲン化リチウム、およびそれらの組合せからなる群より選択されるリチウム含有粒子と、
を含む粒子を有するカソードと、
(b)アノードと、
(c)電解質と、
を備える、リチウムイオンバッテリー。 - 前記遷移金属粒子が、鉄、コバルト、クロム、ニッケル、バナジウム、マンガン、銅、亜鉛、ジルコニウム、モリブデン、ニオブ、およびそれらの組合せからなる群より選択される、請求項1又は2に記載のリチウムイオンバッテリー。
- 前記粒子が、0.01ミクロン〜30ミクロンの範囲の直径を有する、請求項1又は2に記載のリチウムイオンバッテリー。
