表1に示す配合内容にしたがって、まず、硫黄および加硫促進剤を除く材料を、バンバリーミキサーを用いて150℃で5分間混練りし、ついで、硫黄および加硫促進剤を加えて、オープンロールを用いて90℃で5分間混練りした。得られた混練物をタイヤ成型機を用いてチェーファーの形状に成形した(チェーファーゴムA〜E)。
試作タイヤのチェーファーおよびサイドウォール部から、それぞれ幅4mm、長さ30mm、厚さ1.5mmの短冊状試料を切り抜き、(株)岩本製作所製の粘弾性スペクトロメーターを用いて、温度70℃、周波数10Hz、動歪±2%の条件で、複素弾性率(E*)および損失正接(tanδ)を測定した。
各タイヤを正規リム(22.5×8.25の15°深底リム)に装着し、転がり抵抗試験機を用いて、内圧700kPa、時速80km、荷重24.52kNの条件で転がり抵抗を測定した。測定値を、比較例1を100(基準)とする指数で表示した。指数が小さいほど転がり抵抗が小さく、良好である。
試供タイヤを、正規リム(22.5×8.25の15°深底リム)に正規内圧(784kPa)でリム組みし、かつ試験荷重88KN(規格最大荷重の3倍)、試験速度20km/時間の条件で、ドラム試験機を走行させた。ビード部に外観上目視可能な損傷が発生した走行距離を測定し、比較例1を100(基準)とする指数で表示した。指数が大きいほど良好である。
供試タイヤを2−D−4の10トン定積載のテスト車両の前輪に装着して、乗り心地、ハンドル応答性、剛性感、グリップなどに関する特性を、ドライバーの官能評価により、比較例を6(基準)とする10点法で評価した。評点が大きいほど、走行性能に優れていることを示す。
試供タイヤを、リム組み機械(油圧式タイヤチェンジャー)を用いて、サイズ8.25×22.5のアルミホイールリムにリム組み、リム外しテストを行ない、トウ欠けの有無を検査した。なお、アルミホイールリムは、フランジが摩滅し表面削れを生じているものを用い、試供タイヤのビード部には、予め、潤滑用のペーストを薄く塗布したのち、布で拭き取りをしている。
試供タイヤについて、以下の基準で総合評価を行なった。
○:トウ欠けがなく、転がり抵抗とビード耐久性能の両方を改善させた。
△:トウ欠けがないが転がり抵抗とビード耐久のいずれかに改善が見られた。
×:トウ欠けが発生した。

Claims (1)
- 温度70℃、周波数10Hzおよび動歪±2%の条件で測定される複素弾性率が9〜13MPa、損失正接が0.08〜0.11、かつJIS−K6251に準じて測定される引張伸びが230%以上であるゴム組成物からなるチェーファーを有し、
さらに、JIS−K6251に準じて測定される100%伸張時の弾性率が2.3〜5MPaであるゴム組成物からなるサイドウォールパッキングを有し、
重荷重用である空気入りラジアルタイヤ。
