Description
前記繊維複合材料は−80〜300℃において、任意の方向Xの線膨張係数と、該方向Xに直交する方向Yにおける線膨張係数との比が0.7〜1.3倍である。
前記カーボンナノファイバーのアスペクト比は、50以上とすることができる。
(1)サンプルの作製
表1に示すエラストマーに所定量の繊維及びカーボンナノファイバーをオープンロール法によって混練してサンプルを得た。サンプルは、以下の方法によって非架橋サンプルと架橋サンプルとを作製した。
1)6インチオープンロール(ロール温度10〜20℃)に、エラストマーを投入して、ロールに巻き付かせた。
2)エラストマーに対して繊維及びカーボンナノファイバー(表1では「CNT1」、「CNT13」と記載する)をエラストマーに投入した。このとき、ロール間隙を1.5mmとした。
3)繊維及びカーボンナノファイバーを投入し終わったら、エラストマーと繊維とカーボンナノファイバーとの混合物をロールから取り出した。
4)ロール間隙を1.5mmから0.3mmと狭くして、混合物を投入して薄通しをした。このとき、2本のロールの表面速度比を1.1とした。薄通しは繰り返し10回行った。
5)ロールを所定の間隙(1.1mm)にセットして、薄通しした混合物を投入し、分出しした。
実施例1、3〜8及び比較例1〜3の非架橋サンプルを、金型サイズに切り取り、金型にセットし、175℃、100kgf/cm2にて、20分間プレス架橋を行った。
各非架橋サンプルおよび架橋サンプルについて、電子顕微鏡(SEM)を用いて、カーボンナノファイバー及び繊維の分散の状態を観察した。全てのサンプルでカーボンナノファイバー及び繊維がエラストマー中に均一に分散している様子が観察された。
実施例2の非架橋サンプルと、実施例1、3〜8及び比較例1〜3の架橋サンプルと、について、線膨張係数及び耐熱温度を測定した。これらの結果を表1に示す。測定装置はSII社製TMASS、測定試料形状は1.5mm×1.0mm×10mm、側長荷重は25KPa、測定温度は−80〜350℃、昇温速度は2℃/分であった。図2は、実施例1(図中B)及び比較例1(図中A)の温度(℃)−微分線膨張係数ppm(1/K)のグラフである。

Claims (10)
- エラストマーに、平均直径が1〜100μmかつアスペクト比が50〜500の繊維を3〜40体積%と、平均直径が0.7〜15nmかつ平均長さが0.5〜100μmのカーボンナノファイバーを1〜30体積%と、を混合させ、かつロール温度が0ないし50℃、ロール間隔が0.5mm以下のオープンロール法を用いてエラストマーにカーボンナノファイバーを剪断力によって分散させる工程を含む、繊維複合材料の製造方法。
- 請求項1において、
前記繊維複合材料は、−80〜300℃において、平均線膨張係数が100ppm(1/K)以下でありかつ線膨張係数の微分値が120ppm(1/K)以下である、繊維複合材料の製造方法。 - 請求項1または2において、
前記繊維複合材料は、−80〜300℃において、任意の方向Xの線膨張係数と、該方向Xに直交する方向Yにおける線膨張係数との比が0.7〜1.3倍である、繊維複合材料の製造方法。 - 請求項1ないし3のいずれかにおいて、
前記カーボンナノファイバーのアスペクト比は、50以上である、繊維複合材料の製造方法。 - 請求項1ないし4のいずれかにおいて、
前記繊維複合材料は、前記エラストマーが架橋されていない非架橋体である、繊維複合材料の製造方法。 - 請求項1ないし4のいずれかにおいて、
前記繊維複合材料は、前記エラストマーが架橋された架橋体である、繊維複合材料の製造方法。 - 請求項1ないし6のいずれかにおいて、
前記カーボンナノファイバーが混合される前の前記エラストマーは、パルス法NMRを用いてハーンエコー法によって30℃で測定した、非架橋体における、ネットワーク成分のスピン−スピン緩和時間(T2n)が100ないし3000μ秒である、繊維複合材料の製造方法。 - 請求項1ないし7のいずれかにおいて、
前記繊維は、天然繊維である、繊維複合材料の製造方法。 - 請求項1ないし7のいずれかにおいて、
前記繊維は、金属繊維である、繊維複合材料の製造方法。 - 請求項1ないし9のいずれかにおいて、
前記繊維複合材料は、耐熱温度が300℃以上である、繊維複合材料の製造方法。
