Description
本発明の他の目的は、熱間充填された場合にも熱による性能低下がなく、優れた内容物の倒立落下性を示すポリエチレン製容器を提供することにある。
本発明によれば、また、上記のポリエチレン製容器に非油性内容物が熱間充填されて密封されているポリエチレン製容器が提供される。
(1)前記非油性内容物が、粘稠性食品であること、
(2)前記脂肪族アミドが、不飽和脂肪族アミドであること、
(3)前記不飽和脂肪族アミドが、オレイン酸アミド、エルカ酸アミド、或いはエチレンビスオレイン酸アミドの少なくとも1種であること、
(4)前記ポリエチレン製容器に非油性内容物が熱間充填されて密封されていること、
が好ましい。
脂肪族アミド分子は、極性基(アミド基)と非極性基(炭化水素基)とを有する両親媒性分子であり、特にアミド基中の酸素原子と水素原子との間で水素結合が形成可能となっている。従って、図1の模式図に示すように、ポリエチレン樹脂層の表面にブリーディングした脂肪族アミド分子は、水素結合力による極性基間の引力と非極性基間に作用するファンデルワールス力(水素結合力よりもかなり弱い)による引力とにより多分子層を形成するものと考えられる。このため、粘稠な内容物は、このような多分子層上を転落していくこととなるが、この場合、非油性の内容物は、脂肪族アミドの極性基に対して親和性が高いため、内容物の転落に際しては、多分子層内における結合力の弱い非極性基間の部分でへき開を生じることとなる。即ち、本発明では、脂肪族アミドの多分子層中でへき開を生じ、多分子層上部の脂肪族アミド分子を剥離させながら転落していくものとなり、この結果として、転落速度が速く、従って、優れた倒立落下性を示すものと信じられる。例えば、ステアリン酸などの脂肪酸やパラフィンワックスなどは、このような多分子層を形成せず、しかもへき開性を示さないため、転落速度が遅く、倒立落下性が不満足なものとなってしまうのである。
尚、300ppmの量の脂肪族アミドが配合されている場合においても、倒立落下性の向上が見られるが、本発明者の実験によれば、脂肪族アミドを300ppmの量で含有するポリエチレン樹脂を内面とした容量500mlの多層ボトルの場合、当初の倒立落下性の向上は発現されたが継続的な倒立落下性の向上は発現されず、倒立落下性の耐久性の観点から満足できるものではないことが判明した。
尚、脂肪族アミドと共に有機過酸化物を配合したときには、倒立落下性の耐久性維持効果が発現する。
尚、以下の実験例で内容物の転落速度は、次のようにして測定した。
転落速度測定試験:
ポリエチレン樹脂(低密度ポリエチレン、MFR=22)を基材樹脂とし、各実験例に示す処方にしたがって各種の添加剤が基材樹脂に配合された樹脂組成物を用い、該樹脂組成物を射出成形して、92mm×92mm×1.5mmの大きさの試料基板を作製する。この試料基板の一方側の端部に70mgのケチャップ(23℃での粘度;1740cps)を載せ、これを85度の角度に傾斜させ、ケチャップの転落挙動をカメラで測定し、その転落挙動を解析し、移動距離−時間のプロットから転落速度を算出し、この速度を倒立落下性の指標とした。この速度が大きいほど、内容物の倒立落下性が優れていることを意味する。
表1に示すように、各種の添加剤をポリエチレン樹脂に添加し、2軸押出機を用いて溶融混練し、該溶融混練物を射出成形して試料基板を作製し、ケチャップについての転落速度を測定した。その結果を表1に示す。
添加剤としてオレイン酸アミドを使用し、ポリエチレン樹脂当りの添加量を種々変更して試料基板を作製した。この試料基板について、転落速度を測定した。添加量と転落速度との関係を図3に示した。
図3の結果から、添加量としては、500ppm以上で且つ4000ppm未満の範囲で転落速度の十分な向上が発現することが判る。
基材のポリエチレン樹脂当り、表2に示す量でオレイン酸アミド及び有機過酸化物(パーヘキシン25B−40,日本油脂(株)製)を配合し、試料基板を作製した。この基板を25℃の水中に1分間、浸漬保持しながら超音波処理した後、転落速度を測定し、超音波処理前の転落速度と比較した。その結果を表2に示した。
基材のポリエチレン樹脂当り、表3に示す量でオレイン酸アミド及び有機過酸化物(パーヘキシン25B−40,日本油脂(株)製)を配合し、試料基板を作製した。この基板を85℃の熱水中に30秒間浸漬保持した後、転落速度を測定し、このような熱水処理前の転落速度と比較した。その結果を表3に示した。

Claims (5)
- 少なくともポリエチレン樹脂層を内面に備えたポリエチレン製容器であって、容器内面のポリエチレン樹脂層は、滑剤として脂肪族アミドを500ppm以上、4000ppm未満の量で含有しており、さらに有機過酸化物がブレンドされていることを特徴とする非油性内容物用ポリエチレン製容器。
- 前記非油性内容物が、粘稠性食品である請求項1に記載のポリエチレン製容器。
- 前記脂肪族アミドが、不飽和脂肪族アミドである請求項1または2に記載のポリエチレン製容器。
- 前記不飽和脂肪族アミドが、オレイン酸アミド、エルカ酸アミド、或いはエチレンビスオレイン酸アミドの少なくとも1種である請求項3に記載のポリエチレン製容器。
- 請求項1乃至4の何れかのポリエチレン製容器に非油性内容物が熱間充填されて密封されているポリエチレン製容器。
