Abstract
【解決手段】本発明は、厚さが50μm以下の偏光子の一面に工程用フィルムを供給するステップと、前記偏光子の他面に保護フィルムを供給するステップと、前記偏光子および保護フィルムの間に接着剤組成物を供給して、接着剤層を形成するステップと、前記工程用フィルムおよび保護フィルムの各表面に一対の加圧手段を配置して、前記工程用フィルム/前記偏光子/前記保護フィルムの積層体を加圧するステップと、前記工程用フィルムを剥離するステップとを含み、前記偏光子および工程用フィルムの間の剥離力が1.0N以下である片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法に関するものである。

Description
<実施例1>
厚さ20μmのポリビニルアルコール系フィルム(日本合成社製品)を、25℃の雰囲気下、10M/minの速度で水平方向に移動させながら、その上面に、工程用フィルムとして、厚さが38μm、偏光子との剥離力が0.2N以下、表面粗さ(Ra)が27nmのPETフィルム(TSI社製品)を供給し、その下面に、保護フィルムとして、アクリルフィルム(日本触媒社製品)を供給して、10M/minの速度、2MPaの圧力で一対のロールを通過させた。この時、前記ポリビニルアルコール系フィルムおよび保護フィルムの間に、紫外線硬化型接着剤組成物を、マイヤーバー(Mayer Bar)を用いて2μmの厚さに塗布した。その後、Arcランプを用いて、500mJ/cm2の紫外線を照射して硬化させた後、工程用フィルムを剥離して、ポリビニルアルコール系フィルムの一方の面にのみアクリルフィルムが保護フィルムとして付着した片面型薄型偏光板を製造した。
保護フィルムを剥離した後、保護フィルムが剥離された面に紫外線硬化型接着剤組成物と同一の組成物を塗布し、同一の条件で硬化させて追加的に保護層を形成したことを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法で片面型薄型偏光板を製造した。
厚さ20μmのポリビニルアルコール系フィルム(日本合成社製品)を、25℃の雰囲気下、10M/minの速度で水平方向に移動させながら、その一面に、保護フィルムとして、アクリルフィルム(日本触媒社製品)を供給して、10M/minの速度、2MPaの圧力で一対のロールを通過させた。この時、前記ポリビニルアルコール系フィルムおよび保護フィルムの間に、紫外線硬化型接着剤組成物を、マイヤーバー(Mayer Bar)を用いて2μmの厚さに塗布した。その後、アークランプ(Arc lamp)を用いて、500mJ/cm2の紫外線を照射して硬化させた後、ポリビニルアルコール系フィルムの一方の面にのみアクリルフィルムが保護フィルムとして付着した片面型薄型偏光板を製造した。
工程用フィルムとして、偏光子との剥離力が3NのPETフィルムを使用したこと以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で片面型薄型偏光板を製造した。
工程用フィルムとして、表面粗さ(Ra)が65nmのPETフィルムを使用したこと以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で片面型薄型偏光板を製造した。
実施例1〜2および比較例1〜3により製造された片面型薄型偏光板に対して、製造工程におけるロール汚染の有無を測定した。測定は、保護フィルムが付着した面の他面を加圧するロールの、フィルム両端の通る領域の汚染の程度を肉眼で確認する方法で行った。その結果を下記の表1に示した。汚染した部分がない場合を×、汚染した部分がある場合を○と表示した。
実施例1〜2および比較例1〜3により製造された片面型薄型偏光板に対して、製造工程における偏光子破断の有無を測定した。測定は、紫外線硬化後、偏光板巻取ロール400、500まで走行する過程で偏光子破断の有無を肉眼で確認する方法で行った。その結果を下記の表1に示した。偏光子の破断が発生しなかった場合を×、破断が発生した場合を○と表示した。
実施例1〜2および比較例1〜3により製造された片面型薄型偏光板を用いて、偏光子におけるゆず肌現象発生の有無を肉眼で測定した。偏光子の表面に凹凸が生じて粗くなるゆず肌現象(orange peel)が発生しなかった場合を×、ゆず肌現象が発生した場合を○と表示し、結果は下記の表1に示した。

Claims (15)
- 厚さが50μm以下の偏光子の一面に工程用フィルムを供給するステップと、
前記偏光子の他面に保護フィルムを供給するステップと、
前記偏光子および保護フィルムの間に接着剤組成物を供給して、接着剤層を形成するステップと、
前記工程用フィルムおよび保護フィルムの各表面に一対の加圧手段を配置して、前記工程用フィルム/前記偏光子/前記保護フィルムの積層体を加圧するステップと、
前記工程用フィルムを剥離するステップとを含み、
前記偏光子および工程用フィルムの間の剥離力が1.0N以下であることを特徴とする、片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。 - 前記工程用フィルムを剥離するステップの後に、前記工程用フィルムが剥離された面に保護層を形成するステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記接着剤組成物は、ラジカル硬化型組成物または陽イオン硬化型組成物を用いて形成されたことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記保護層は、ラジカル硬化型組成物または陽イオン硬化型組成物を用いて形成されたことを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記保護層は、モジュラスが500MPa〜6000MPaであることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記保護層の厚さは、0.5μm〜10μmであることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記加圧するステップは、0.5MPa〜6MPaの圧力で行われることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記工程用フィルムの厚さは、20μm〜100μmであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記工程用フィルムの幅は、偏光子の幅より大きいことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記工程用フィルムの表面粗さ(Ra)は、0.5nm〜60nmであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記工程用フィルムは、ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルム、ポリエチレンフィルム、ポリカーボネートフィルム、トリアセチルセルロースフィルム、シクロオレフィンポリマーフィルム、およびアクリルフィルムからなる群より選択された1種以上を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記保護フィルムは、ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルム、ポリエチレンフィルム、ポリカーボネートフィルム、トリアセチルセルロースフィルム、シクロオレフィンポリマーフィルム、およびアクリルフィルムからなる群より選択された1種以上を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記偏光子は、湿式延伸または乾式延伸されたものであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記湿式延伸または乾式延伸は、4倍以上の延伸倍率で行われたことを特徴とする、請求項13に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
- 前記片面型薄型偏光板の厚さは、30μm〜140μmであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の片面型薄型偏光板の製造方法。
