Abstract
Description
本発明は、長繊維(long fiber)形態であるフィラメント(filament)型前駆体繊維を用いて製造されて耐久性が向上した活性炭素繊維に関するものである。
フィラメント型前駆体繊維をアルカリ溶液に浸漬させる段階は、活性炭素繊維の強度及び収率をさらに向上させるために実施することができる。この際、前記フィラメント型前駆体繊維は、セルロース系フィラメント型前駆体繊維、ポリアクリロニトリル系フィラメント型前駆体繊維及びアラミド系フィラメント型前駆体繊維よりなる群から選択されてもよい。
フィラメント型前駆体繊維を乾燥させる段階において、前記フィラメント型前駆体繊維は、ポリアクリロニトリル系フィラメント型前駆体繊維であり得る。
(S1)段階は、フィラメント型前駆体繊維を安定化させる段階である。
前記フィラメント型前駆体繊維は、セルロース系フィラメント型前駆体繊維、ポリアクリロニトリル系フィラメント型前駆体繊維、及びアラミド系フィラメント型前駆体繊維よりなる群から選択されてもよい。
(S2)段階は、安定化されたフィラメント型前駆体繊維を活性化させる段階である。
表1に示すような活性炭素用前駆体繊維を用いて300g/m2の重量で生地を製織した。生地の組織は2/2綾織り(ツイル)を適用した。このように製造した生地を10%リン酸(H3PO4)水溶液に浸漬した後、120℃の熱風で40分間乾燥させた。これをさらに220〜300℃の不活性雰囲気(N2)で20分間炭化させた後、650〜950℃の温度範囲を有する活性化炉でスチーム(Steam)を用いて20分間活性化することにより、活性炭素繊維を製造した。
3600デニール、3000フィラメントであるPAN系前駆体繊維を同じ組織に実施例1、2と同様に製織した。これを化学的沈着処理なしにさらに230℃の空気雰囲気下で4時間、耐塩化を行わせた後、さらに450〜800℃に上昇する温度分布の間で5分間不活性雰囲気中で炭化処理した。このように製造された試料を再び950℃の活性化炉でスチーム(Steam)を用いて20分間活性化することにより活性炭素繊維を製造した。
3600デニール、3000フィラメントであるアラミド系前駆体繊維を同じ組織に実施例1、2と同様に製織し、10%リン酸(H3PO4)水溶液に浸漬した後、120℃の熱風で40分間乾燥させた。これをさらに220〜300℃の不活性雰囲気(N2)で20分間炭化させた後、650〜950℃の温度範囲を有する活性化炉でスチーム(Steam)を用いて20分間活性化して活性炭素繊維を製造した。
一方、本発明の実施例には反映していないが、その他にピッチ系、フェノール系の短繊維に対しては収率が極めて低下するうえ、耐久性が著しく及ばないことが確認され、物性を把握することは非常に困難であった。
Claims (16)
- 活性炭素繊維用フィラメント型前駆体繊維を活性化して製造されたフィラメント型活性炭素繊維であって、0.01〜1.0g/denierの強度を持つ活性炭素繊維。
- 前記活性炭素繊維用フィラメント型前駆体繊維は、セルロース系フィラメント型前駆体繊維、ポリアクリロニトリル系フィラメント型前駆体繊維、及びアラミド系フィラメント型前駆体繊維よりなる群から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の活性炭素繊維。
- 前記フィラメント型前駆体繊維は、その強度が5〜12g/denierであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の活性炭素繊維。
- 前記フィラメント型前駆体繊維は、その単糸繊度が0.05〜10denierであり、全繊度が300〜30,000denierであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の活性炭素繊維。
- (S1)フィラメント型前駆体繊維を安定化させる段階と、
(S2)安定化されたフィラメント型前駆体繊維を不活性雰囲気下で炭化させて活性化させる段階とを、含んでなる、活性炭素繊維の製造方法。 - 前記(S1)段階の前に、フィラメント型前駆体繊維をアルカリ溶液に浸漬させる段階をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の活性炭素繊維の製造方法。
- 前記フィラメント型前駆体繊維は、セルロース系フィラメント型前駆体繊維またはアラミド系フィラメント型前駆体繊維であることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の活性炭素繊維の製造方法。
- 前記(S1)段階の前に、フィラメント型前駆体繊維を乾燥させる段階をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の活性炭素繊維の製造方法。
- 前記乾燥させる段階の前に、フィラメント型前駆体繊維をアルカリ溶液に浸漬させる段階をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の活性炭素繊維の製造方法。
- 前記フィラメント型前駆体繊維はポリアクリロニトリル系フィラメント型前駆体繊維であることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の活性炭素繊維の製造方法。
- 前記(S1)段階の安定化は、
フィラメント型前駆体繊維がセルロース系フィラメント型前駆体繊維またはアラミド系フィラメント型前駆体繊維であれば、不活性雰囲気下で200〜350℃の温度で10〜240分間熱処理して安定化させ、
フィラメント型前駆体繊維がポリアクリロニトリル系フィラメント型前駆体繊維であれば、空気中で200〜300℃の温度で30〜240分間熱処理して安定化させることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の活性炭素繊維の製造方法。 - 前記(S2)段階の活性化は、
フィラメント型前駆体繊維がセルロース系フィラメント型前駆体繊維またはアラミド系フィラメント型前駆体繊維であれば、不活性雰囲気下で300〜500℃の温度で1〜30分間低温炭化させた後、650〜1,050℃の温度で活性化させ、
フィラメント型前駆体繊維がポリアクリロニトリル系フィラメント型前駆体繊維であれば、不活性雰囲気下で500〜950℃の温度で1〜30分間高温炭化させた後、650〜1,050℃の温度で活性化させることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の活性炭素繊維の製造方法。 - 前記アルカリ溶液は、リン酸水溶液、リン酸アンモニウム水溶液及び塩化亜鉛水溶液よりなる群から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項6または9に記載の活性炭素繊維の製造方法。
- 前記乾燥は100〜150℃の温度で熱処理することにより行われることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の活性炭素繊維の製造方法。
- 請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の活性炭性繊維で製造された織物。
- 請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の活性炭素繊維で製造された編物。
