Abstract
Description
特許協力条約に基づく本出願は、2013年9月30日に出願の「Keycaps Having Improved Illumination and Reduced Thickness」と題する米国特許仮出願第61/884,241号の優先権を主張するものであり、その開示内容は本明細書に参照により全て組み込まれている。
Claims (23)
- コンピューティングデバイスと共に使用される照光式入力装置であって、
複数のキーを備え、それぞれのキーは、
上面を有する金属キーキャップと、
前記金属キーキャップ内に形成された表記開口と、
前記表記開口内の表記拡散体材料と、
前記キーキャップを支持するように構成された圧縮可能なシザー機構と、
オン状態及びオフ状態を有し、前記表記開口を通して光を伝達するように向いている、光源と、
を含む、照光式入力装置。 - 前記オン状態は、前記光源が前記金属キーキャップの外周部に近接して発光するキーキャップ外周部照明モードを含む、請求項1に記載の照光式入力装置。
- 前記オン状態は、前記光源が表記拡散体材料を通して及び前記表記開口を通して光を伝達する表記照明モードを含む、請求項1に記載の照光式入力装置。
- 前記金属キーキャップは、アルミニウム材料から形成される、請求項1に記載の照光式入力装置。
- 前記表記拡散体材料は、前記表記開口を通して伝達される光を拡散するように構成されている、請求項1に記載の照光式入力装置。
- 前記金属キーキャップは陽極酸化されている、請求項1に記載の照光式入力装置。
- 前記表記開口は、レーザ切断処理を用いて、前記金属キーキャップに形成される、請求項1に記載の照光式入力装置。
- 前記表記開口は、レーザアブレーション処理を用いて、前記金属キーキャップに形成される、請求項1に記載の照光式入力装置。
- 前記光源は、発光ダイオードを含む、請求項1に記載の照光式入力装置。
- 前記表記拡散体材料の一部は、前記上面と同一平面である、請求項1に記載の照光式入力装置。
- 前記表記開口は、島部に接続する少なくとも1つのブリッジ部により、部分的に確定される、請求項1に記載の照光式入力装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つのブリッジ部は、前記金属キーキャップの厚さより小さい厚さを有する、請求項11に記載の照光式入力装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つのブリッジ部は、レーザアブレーション処理を用いて形成される、請求項12に記載の照光式入力装置。
- キーボードを照光する光透過キーキャップを製造する方法であって、
金属キーキャップ内に表記開口の少なくとも一部を形成し、
前記表記開口内に、半透明な表記拡散体材料を堆積させ、
前記表記拡散体材料を前記表記開口内へリフローさせ、
前記金属キーキャップ及び前記表記拡散体材料を硬化条件にさらし、それによって、前記表記拡散体材料を硬化し、
前記硬化された表記拡散体材料が前記上面と実質的に連続した表面を形成するように、残留表記拡散体材料を平滑化し、
前記硬化された表記拡散体材料が前記底面と実質的に連続した表面を形成するように、残留表記拡散体材料を平滑化する、
ことを含む、方法。 - 前記金属キーキャップの前記端部を面取りすることを更に含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 発光要素から放出される光が前記半透明な表記拡散体材料を通して、及び、前記表記開口を通して伝達されるように、前記発光要素を前記金属キーキャップの下に配置することを更に含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記表記開口は、レーザ切断処理を用いて切断される、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記表記開口は、レーザアブレーション処理を用いて切断される、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記表記開口は、少なくとも1つのブリッジ部及び少なくとも1つの島部により確定される、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つのブリッジ部は、前記選択された金属キーキャップの前記均一な厚さより小さい厚さを有する、請求項19に記載の方法。
- 複数のキーと、前記複数のキーのそれぞれが、
均一な厚さを有する金属最上層、
前記金属最上層内で表記を確定する開口、及び
前記金属最上層の底面上に堆積された拡散体充填材、
を含むキーキャップを含み、
前記複数のキーの下にある発光層と、
複数の電気スイッチを含む電気スイッチ層であって、前記複数のそれぞれは、前記複数のキーのそれぞれの下にある、電気スイッチ層と、
を備える、キーボード。 - 前記発光層は、複数の発光ダイオードを含む、請求項21に記載のキーボード。
- 前記開口は、レーザ切断処理により部分的に開けられ、レーザアブレーション処理により部分的に開けられる、請求項21に記載のキーボード。
