本発明は、概して放射性廃棄物の処理に関し、特には、放射性廃物からの特定放射性同位体の分離及び再生/再利用に関する。
放射性同位体は、例えば原子力発電所に関連する装置やプロセス等の、核エネルギの使用に関連する、多数の装置及びプロセスからの放射性廃物内に通常存在する。原子力発電所では、放射性同位体は、軽水炉の第1次及び第2次ウォータループへ漏れる。この漏れは、リアクタ構成要素の(炉心からの放射被爆を通じての)核活性化と同様に、核燃料崩壊の避けられない結果である。特定の放射性同位体を分離及び管理する機能は、クリーンで、安全で、確実な放射性廃棄物管理に必要であり、ひいては、これは核エネルギの安全でコスト効率の良い使用に不可欠である。

Claims (14)
- イオン交換樹脂を選択的に再生するためのシステムであって、
原子炉システム第1次冷却材ループからのイオン交換樹脂を保持するための高性能容器と、
前記イオン交換樹脂を洗浄して、選択された放射性同位体を含む洗浄液を生成するための選択的再生剤と、
選択された放射性同位体を前記洗浄液から除去するための同位体特有の媒体と、
を備えるシステム。 - 前記選択的再生剤は、キレート再生剤を含む請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記選択された放射性同位体は、セシウム、ストロンチウム及びニッケルからなるグループから選択された元素の同位体である請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記洗浄液の熱処理のために構成されたサブシステムを更に備える請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記洗浄液のマイクロ波処理のために構成されたサブシステムを更に備える請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記洗浄液のガラス固化のために構成されたサブシステムを更に備える請求項1記載のシステム。
- 放射性同位体を含むイオン交換樹脂を処理するための方法であって、
原子炉システム第1次冷却材ループからイオン交換樹脂を得ることと、
高性能容器内に前記イオン交換樹脂を保持することと、
前記イオン交換樹脂を選択的再生剤で洗浄して、放射性同位体を含む洗浄液を生成することと、
前記洗浄液を処理することと、
を含む方法。 - 前記洗浄液を処理することは、選択された放射性同位体を前記洗浄液から除去するために前記洗浄液を同位体特有の媒体と混合することを含む請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記選択された放射性同位体は、セシウム、ストロンチウム及びニッケルからなるグループから選択された元素の同位体である請求項8記載の方法。
- 前記洗浄液を処理することは、前記洗浄液をガラス固化することを含む請求項8記載の方法。
- 前記洗浄液を処理することは、前記洗浄液から一部の液体を蒸発させるために前記洗浄液にマイクロ波を放射することを含む請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記洗浄液を処理することは、前記洗浄液をガラス固化することを含む請求項7記載の方法。
