Abstract
【解決手段】表示装置は、各々が第1方向に延びた複数のゲートライン及び各々が第2方向に延びた複数のデータラインに各々接続された複数のサブピクセルを含む表示パネルと、複数のゲートラインを駆動するゲートドライバと、複数のデータラインへ階調電圧を提供するデータドライバ、及びゲートドライバ及びデータドライバを制御するための複数の制御信号を発生するタイミングコントローラと、を含む。1つのピクセルは複数のサブピクセルの中で隣接する偶数個のサブピクセルを含み、データラインの各々は複数のサブピクセルの中で対応するサブピクセルの一側に各々接続され、データドライバは2つのデータライン毎に交互に階調電圧の極性を反転させ、1つのピクセル内の隣接する2つのサブピクセルへ提供される階調電圧の極性は互いに異なる。

Description
図11は図10に図示された表示パネルのデータラインへ提供される階調電圧を示す図面である。
図10及び図11を参照すれば、i番目フレームでデータラインDL1−DLmは次のように駆動される。レッドサブピクセルR及びブルーサブピクセルBに接続されたデータラインDL1、DL5は最小階調電圧VLP及び最大階調電圧VHPで水平ライン毎に交互に駆動される。グリーンサブピクセルG及びホワイトサブピクセルWに接続されたデータラインDL2、DL6は最大階調電圧VHN及び最小階調電圧VLNで水平ライン毎に交互に駆動される。レッドサブピクセルR及びブルーサブピクセルBに接続されたデータラインDL3、DL7は最大階調電圧VHN及び最小階調電圧VLNで水平ライン毎に交互に駆動される。グリーンサブピクセルG及びホワイトサブピクセルWに接続されたデータラインDL4、DL8は最小階調電圧VLP及び最大階調電圧VHPで水平ライン毎に交互に駆動される。

Claims (10)
- 各々が第1方向に延びた複数のゲートライン及び各々が第2方向に延びた複数のデータラインに各々接続された複数のサブピクセルを含む表示パネルと、
前記複数のゲートラインを駆動するゲートドライバと、
前記複数のデータラインへ階調電圧を提供するデータドライバと、
前記ゲートドライバ及び前記データドライバを制御するための複数の制御信号を発生するタイミングコントローラと、を含み、
1つのピクセルは前記複数のサブピクセルの中で隣接する偶数個のサブピクセルを含み、
前記データラインの各々は前記複数のサブピクセルの中で対応する複数のサブピクセルの一側に各々接続され、
前記データドライバは2つのデータライン毎に交互に前記階調電圧の極性を反転させ、前記1つのピクセル内の隣接する2つのサブピクセルへ提供される階調電圧の極性は互いに異なることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記1つのピクセルは第1タイプピクセル及び第2タイプピクセルを含み、
前記第1タイプピクセル及び前記第2タイプピクセルの各々はレッドサブピクセル、グリーンサブピクセル、ブルーサブピクセル、及びホワイトサブピクセルの中で2つのサブピクセルを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第1タイプピクセルはレッドサブピクセル及びグリーンサブピクセルを含み、
前記第2タイプピクセルはブルーサブピクセル及びホワイトサブピクセルを含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第1タイプピクセル及び前記第2タイプピクセルは前記第1方向及び前記第2方向に互いに隣接するように配列されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の表示装置。
- 前記データラインの各々は前記複数のサブピクセルの中で対応するサブピクセルの左側に各々接続されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記データドライバはフレーム毎に前記複数のデータラインの各々を通じて提供される前記階調電圧の極性を反転させることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記複数のデータラインの中の第1データラインには前記第2方向にレッドサブピクセル及びブルーサブピクセルが順次的に交互に接続され、前記複数のデータラインの中の第2データラインには前記第2方向にグリーンサブピクセル及びホワイトサブピクセルが順次的に交互に接続され、前記複数のデータラインの中の第3データラインには前記第2方向にブルーサブピクセル及びレッドサブピクセルが順次的に交互に接続され、前記複数のデータラインの中の第4データラインには前記第2方向にホワイトサブピクセル及びグリーンサブピクセルが順次的も交互に接続され、
前記第1乃至第4データラインが前記第1方向に順次的に配列されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記タイミングコントローラは、
外部から提供される映像信号に応答してデータ信号を前記データドライバへ提供し、
前記映像信号が所定の映像パターンであるときに、反転モード信号を活性化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記データドライバは、
前記データ信号を受信し、前記反転モード信号に応答して前記複数のデータラインへ提供される前記階調電圧の極性を設定することを特徴とする請求項8に記載の表示装置。 - 前記データドライバは、
前記反転モード信号が非活性状態であるとき、前記2つのデータライン毎に交互に前記階調電圧の極性を反転させ、前記1つのピクセル内の前記2つのサブピクセルへ提供される階調電圧の極性が互いに異なるように前記階調電圧の極性を設定することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の表示装置。
