Abstract
【課題】 表示品位の良好な液晶表示装置を提供する。
【解決手段】 走査線GLと、走査線GLと交差する信号線SLと、信号線SLが延びる方向に延び走査線GLが延びる方向に並んで配置された複数の櫛歯画素電極PE1〜PE3を含む画素電極PEと、複数の櫛歯画素電極PE1〜PE3の間において信号線SLが延びる方向に延び、櫛歯画素電極PE1〜PE3と所定のスペースを置いて配置された複数の櫛歯共通電極CE1〜CE4を含む共通電極CEと、少なくとも信号線SLと信号線SLの近傍に配置された櫛歯画素電極PE1、PE3との間に配置された遮光部COM1と、を備えた第1基板101と、信号線SLが延びる方向と略直交する方向において遮光部COM1と同じ幅であって信号線SLと対向する遮光層BMを備え、第1基板101と対向して配置された第2基板102と、第1基板101と第2基板102との間に挟持された液晶層LQと、を備えた液晶表示装置。

Description
信号線SLと走査線GLとは交差するように延びている。画素スイッチSWは例えばアモルファスシリコンの半導体層SCを含む薄膜トランジスタである。なお画素スイッチSWはポリシリコンの半導体層を含む薄膜トランジスタであってもよい。画素スイッチSWのゲート電極GEは、対応する走査線GLに電気的に接続されている(あるいは一体に形成されている)。画素スイッチSWのソース電極SEは、対応する信号線SLに電気的に接続されている(あるいは一体に形成されている)。本実施形態に係る液晶表示装置1では、画素スイッチSWが2つのソース電極を備えている。画素スイッチSWのドレイン電極DEは、コンタクトホールCH1を介して対応する画素電極PEに接続されている。
Claims (4)
- 走査線と、前記走査線と交差する信号線と、前記信号線が延びる方向に延び前記走査線が延びる方向に並んで配置された複数の櫛歯画素電極を含む画素電極と、前記複数の櫛歯画素電極の間において前記信号線が延びる方向に延び、前記櫛歯画素電極と所定のスペースを置いて配置された複数の櫛歯共通電極を含む共通電極と、少なくとも前記信号線と前記信号線の近傍に配置された前記櫛歯画素電極との間に配置された遮光部と、を備えた第1基板と、
前記信号線が延びる方向と略直交する方向において前記遮光部と同じ幅であって前記信号線と対向するように配置された遮光層を備え、前記第1基板と対向して配置された第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に挟持された液晶層と、を備えた液晶表示装置。 - 前記信号線、前記櫛歯画素電極、および、前記櫛歯共通電極は、屈曲して前記走査線と交差する方向に延びている請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記遮光部には前記共通電極と同じ電圧が印加されている請求項1又は請求項2記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1基板および前記第2基板のそれぞれは、前記液晶層と接触する表面に配置され所定の方向に配向処理が成された配向膜を備え、
前記第1基板の前記配向膜は、前記遮光部の端部と交差する方向に配向処理が成されている請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか1項記載の液晶表示装置。
