Abstract
Description
(i)白金族金属(白金、パラジウム、ロジウム、ルテニウム、イリジウムおよびオスミウム)、または
(ii)金または銀
から選択される。一次金属は、一種以上の他の貴金属、例えばルテニウム、または卑金属、例えばモリブデン、タングステン、コバルト、クロム、ニッケル、鉄、銅またはそれらの酸化物と合金化または混合することができる。好ましくは、一次金属は白金である。電気触媒が、担持された触媒である場合、一次金属粒子の炭素担体材料上への装填量は、10〜90重量%が好適であり、好ましくは15〜75重量%である。
2個のガス拡散層(Torayから供給されたグラファイト化された炭素繊維紙)を面積230 cm2に切断した。各ガス拡散層を、片面上で電気触媒層(白金装填レベル0.4 mg/cm2)で被覆し、アノード及びカソードガス拡散電極を形成した。
MEAを、例1と類似の様式で製造した。しかし、各縁部保護部材は、その周辺部のあたりの両側で被覆した。2個の電極、2個のセリア被覆された縁部保護部材及びメンブランを組み合わせる時、セリア被覆された縁部保護部材は、各縁部保護部材の片面上のセリア被覆がメンブランと緊密に、直接接触し、各縁部保護部材の反対側の面上のセリア被覆が、電極の電気触媒層と緊密に、直接接触するように配置した。
Claims (11)
- メンブラン電極アセンブリーであって、
周縁部区域及び中央区域を有してなるものであり、
前記メンブラン電極アセンブリーが、イオン伝導性メンブラン、前記イオン伝導性メンブランの両側に配置された第一電気触媒層及び第二電気触媒層、及び前記第一電気触媒層及び第二電気触媒層の両側にそれぞれ配置された第一ガス拡散層及び第二ガス拡散層を含んでなり、
前記メンブラン電極アセンブリーが、縁部保護部材をさらに含んでなり、
前記縁部保護部材が、フィルム層と、結合層と、及びフリーラジカル分解触媒、自己再生酸化防止剤、水素供与体(H-供与体)一次酸化防止剤、フリーラジカル補集剤二次酸化防止剤、酸素吸収剤(酸素補集剤)及び元素状パラジウムからなる群から選択された一種以上の添加剤とを含んでなり、
前記縁部保護部材が、前記メンブラン電極アセンブリーの前記周縁部区域で、前記メンブランと前記第一ガス拡散層及び/または第二ガス拡散層との間に位置し、
前記縁部保護部材が前記第一電気触媒層及び/または第二電気触媒層と重なり合っている、メンブラン電極アセンブリー。 - 前記メンブラン電極アセンブリーが、2個の縁部保護部材を備えてなり、
一方の縁部保護部材が、前記メンブラン電極アセンブリーのアノード側に配置されてなり、
第二の縁部保護部材が、前記メンブラン電極アセンブリーのカソード側に配置されてなる、請求項1に記載のメンブラン電極アセンブリー。 - 前記縁部保護部材が、2個の結合層を備えてなり、
前記結合層が、前記フィルム層の各面上に1個配置される、請求項1または2に記載のメンブラン電極アセンブリー。 - 一種以上の添加剤が、前記結合層中に配合されているか、または前記結合層に塗布されている、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のメンブラン電極アセンブリー。
- 前記縁部保護部材が、前記メンブランと前記電気触媒との間に配置されている、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載のメンブラン電極アセンブリー。
- 前記結合層が、電気触媒層と接触している、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のメンブラン電極アセンブリー。
- 前記結合層が、接着剤層または非接着剤層である、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載のメンブラン電極アセンブリー。
- 前記第一電気触媒層及び第二電気触媒層が、細かく分割された金属粉末である電気触媒、または小さな金属粒子が導電性粒子状炭素担体上に分散されている担持された触媒を含んでなる、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載のメンブラン電極アセンブリー。
- 前記電気触媒が、所望により別の貴金属または卑金属と合金化された白金である、請求項8に記載のメンブラン電極アセンブリー。
- 実質的に本明細書に記載されている、請求項1に記載のメンブラン電極アセンブリー。
- 請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載のMEAを備えてなる、燃料電池。
