Claims (10)

  1. 複合体であって、重合体と、前記複合体の少なくとも5重量パーセントの充填率の表面改質された複数の金属酸化物粒子とを含み、前記複数の金属酸化物粒子は、20ナノメートル未満の数平均一次粒子サイズと100ナノメートルを超えないz‐平均二次粒子サイズとを有し、前記表面改質は、前記複数の金属酸化物粒子の表面上の多くの結合された分子を含み、透明な基板上の5ミクロンの厚さを有する膜に形成された前記複合体は、1つの可視波長において前記複合体の被覆物のない前記透明な基板の透過率と比較して少なくとも90%の透過率を有する複合体。
  2. 前記複合体は、少なくとも20重量パーセントの金属酸化物粒子を含む、請求項1に記載の複合体。
  3. 前記平均一次粒子サイズは、15ナノメートルを超えない、請求項1に記載の複合体。
  4. 前記z‐平均二次粒子サイズは、60ナノメートルを超えない、請求項1に記載の複合体。
  5. 1つの可視波長における前記透過率は、少なくとも93%である、請求項1に記載の複合体。
  6. 重合体と、100nmを超えない平均一次粒子サイズを有する金属酸化物粒子との複合体を形成するための方法であって、
    表面改質された金属酸化物粒子と分散媒とを含む分散物の一部を、重合体と溶媒とを含む重合体溶液の中に段階的にブレンドして均一な重合体‐無機粒子複合体を形成することを含み、前記分散媒は、前記溶媒と相溶性であり、前記ブレンドすることは、実質的にいかなる粒子も前記ブレンドから沈降しないように実行される方法。
  7. 50nmを超えない平均一次粒子サイズを有する金属酸化物粒子の前記表面特性を改質するための方法であって、
    前記金属酸化物粒子の乾燥粉体を水と接触させて前記粒子表面の前記(‐OH)含有率を増加させること、
    水と相溶性の液体の前記添加によって前記粒子を沈殿させること、及び
    少なくとも1重量パーセントの濃度及び100nmを超えないz‐平均二次粒子サイズで前記粒子をアルコールの中に分散させることを含む方法。
  8. 前記水と接触させることは、前記粒子を水溶液と混合することによって実行される、請求項7に記載の方法。
  9. 増強された(‐OH)の寄与を有する表面構造を有する金属酸化物粒子を流れの中で製造するための方法であって、
    生成物粒子の流れを水蒸気に曝露させることであって、前記粒子は、前記流れの中で金属酸化物前駆体を含む反応体の流れから合成されること、及び
    前記水によって改質された粒子を回収すること
    を含む方法。
  10. 前記粒子の前記合成は、反応チャンバの中で実行され、前記流れは、反応体供給システムに結合されたノズルにおいて開始される、請求項9に記載の方法。
