Abstract
Description
選択された周波数成分に関して情報の一部を変調することは、中心周波数の異なるそれぞれの周波数成分に関して情報の一部を復号することの可能な冗長データを変調することを含む。

情報を変調するために用いられる所定の振幅は、位相偏移キーイング変調コンスタレーションに対応する振幅を含む。
複数の周波数成分のうちの1つの振幅を、情報を変調するために用いられる所定の振幅未満に設定することは、この周波数成分の振幅を、この周波数成分の配置される変調された信号のスペクトルの一部において放射可能な電力に関する制約に基づく制限未満に設定することを含む。
この方法は、さらに、認可されたエンティティから送信を検出することに応じて、周波数成分の振幅を制限未満に設定する工程を含む。
この方法は、さらに、一定の周波数範囲において少なくとも幾つかの周波数が除外されている1組の利用可能な周波数にしたがって、信号の周波数成分を選択する工程を含む。
別の態様では、一般に、本発明は、送信機を特徴とする。この送信機は、情報を冗長性に符号化し、信号の複数の周波数成分に関して変調する回路を備える符号化器モジュールを含む。得られる変調された信号は周波数において少なくとも幾らかの冗長性を含み、選択された周波数成分のすべてより少ない周波数成分から、選択された周波数成分に関して変調された情報の一部を回復することを可能とする。また、この送信機は、変調された信
号のスペクトルを制御する回路を備えるスペクトル成形モジュールを含む。これは、変調された信号の少なくとも一部の周波数成分の振幅を、情報を変調するために用いられる所定の振幅未満に設定することを可能とすることを含む。
振幅マスク技術を用いて、例えば、ユーザのローカルネットワーク(例えば、コンピュータ、Ethernet(登録商標)ブリッジ、テレビ、DVRなどなどの装置のホーム送電線ネットワーク)とサービスプロバイダのアクセスネットワークとの間の相互運用を維持することが可能である。サービスプロバイダは、認可されたエンティティと干渉することの禁止などの制約のため、所与のスペクトルバンドにおいて放射される電力を制限することが必要な場合がある。連邦通信委員会(FCC)は、例えば、アマチュア無線装置または無線局など認可されたエンティティと干渉する場合、サービスプロバイダが所与のスペクトルバンドにおける電力の送出を停止する手段を有することが可能であることを要求することがある。振幅マスク技術によって、通信を維持したまま、変調方式の変更を受信局と交渉する必要なく、送出されるスペクトルをサービスプロバイダが調整することが可能となる。

Claims (21)
- 信号の複数の周波数成分に関して情報を変調する工程と、得られる変調された信号は周波数において少なくとも幾らかの冗長性を含み、選択された周波数成分のすべてより少ない周波数成分から、選択された周波数成分に関して変調された情報の一部を回復することを可能とすることと、
変調された信号のスペクトルを制御する工程と、同工程は、変調された信号の少なくとも一部の周波数成分の振幅を、情報を変調するために用いられる所定の振幅未満に設定することを可能とすることを含むことと、
所定の振幅未満に設定された振幅を有する周波数成分を含む変換を用いて、変調された信号を生成する工程と、からなる方法。 - 選択された周波数成分に関して情報の一部を変調することは、中心周波数の異なるそれぞれの周波数成分に関して情報の一部を復号することの可能な冗長データを変調することを含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 信号は複数のシンボルを含むことと、それぞれの周波数成分のうちの少なくとも幾つかはシンボルが異なることと、を含む請求項2に記載の方法。
- 冗長データは前記情報に関連した1つ以上の符号化されたビットを含む請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記1つ以上の符号化されたビットは前記情報を表すデータビットを含む請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記1つ以上の符号化されたビットは前記情報を復号するために用いられるパリティビットを含む請求項4に記載の方法。
- 中心周波数は、前記情報を変調するために利用可能な1組の周波数成分のほとんどを通じて、ほぼ一様に拡散されている請求項2に記載の方法。
- 変調された信号を第1のノードから第2のノードへ送信する工程を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 第1のノードおよび第2のノードは各々前記情報を変調するために利用可能な1組の周波数成分を識別する情報を格納する請求項8に記載の方法。
- 第2のノードは、選択された周波数成分のうちのいずれかが前記情報を変調するために用いられる所定の振幅未満に設定されているか否かを示す情報を第1の局から受信する必要なく、前記情報の一部を回復することが可能である請求項8に記載の方法。
- 選択された周波数成分の各々を復調する工程と、得られる復調された情報を用いて前記情報の一部を回復する工程と、を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記情報の一部を回復する工程は、復調された情報を復号する工程を含む請求項11に記載の方法。
- 情報を変調するために用いられる所定の振幅は、位相偏移キーイング変調コンスタレーションに対応する振幅を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 情報を変調するために用いられる所定の振幅は、直交振幅変調コンスタレーションに対応する複数の振幅のうちの1つを含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 複数の周波数成分のうちの1つの振幅を、情報を変調するために用いられる所定の振幅未満に設定することは、同周波数成分の振幅を、同周波数成分の配置される変調された信号のスペクトルの一部において放射可能な電力に関する制約に基づく制限未満に設定することを含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 電力に関する制約は、認可されたエンティティとの干渉を禁止することに基づく請求項15に記載の方法。
- 認可されたエンティティから送信を検出することに応じて、周波数成分の振幅を前記制限未満に設定する工程を含む請求項16に記載の方法。
- 複数の周波数成分のうちの1つの振幅を、情報を変調するために用いられる所定の振幅未満に設定することは、同周波数成分を停止することを含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 一定の周波数範囲において少なくとも幾つかの周波数が除外されている1組の利用可能な周波数にしたがって、信号の周波数成分を選択する工程を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 除外される周波数は、一定の領域において認可されたエンティティと干渉する可能性のある周波数に相当する請求項19に記載の方法。
