Abstract
Description
本発明は、1,1,1,2-テトラフルオロフ゜ロヘ゜ンとトリフルオロヨート゛メタンとの共沸性組成物、並びにその使用を提供する。
フルオロカーボンを主とする流体は、冷媒、エアゾール噴射剤、発泡剤、熱伝達媒体、及びガス状誘電体を始めとする多くの応用例において工業的に広範囲な用途が見出されている。これらの流体のいくつかの使用に関して疑われている環境問題(これらの流体が有する比較的高い地球温暖化係数を含む)のために、ハイドロフルオロカーボン(「HFC」)のようなオゾン破壊係数が低い又はむしろゼロである流体を使用することが好ましい。したがって、クロロフルオロカーボン類(「CFC」)又はハイドロクロロフルオロカーボン類(「HCFC」)を含有しない流体の使用が好ましい。さらに、いくつかのHFC流体はそれに関して比較的高い地球温暖化係数を有することがあり、使用特性における好適なパフォーマンスを維持しつつ、できるだけ地球温暖化係数の低いハイドロフルオロカーボン或いは他のフッ化流体を用いることが好ましい。さらに、沸騰及び蒸発によって実質的に分留しない単一成分流体又は共沸性混合物の使用が好ましい。しかしながら、共沸混合物の形成が容易に予想できないという事実のために、環境に安全な分留されない新規混合物を見出すことは難しい。
本発明者らは、CFC類及びHCFC類の代替物に対する長年のニーズを満足させることを助けるいくつかの組成物を開発した。ある態様によれば、本発明は、1,1,1,2-テトラフルオロフ゜ロヘ゜ン(「HFO-1234yf」)とトリフルオロヨート゛メタン(「CF3I」)とを含んでなる共沸性組成物を提供する。
本明細書において使用される場合、「共沸性」という用語は、その広い意味におけるものであり、厳密に共沸である組成物と共沸混合物のように挙動する組成物の両方を含むことを意図している。基本法則によれば、流体の熱力学的状態は、圧力、温度、液体の組成、及び蒸気の組成によって定まる。共沸混合物は、ある圧力と温度において液体の組成と蒸気の組成とが等しい2以上の成分の系である。実際上、これは、共沸混合物の成分が定沸点であり、相変化中に分離することができないことを意味する。
本発明の共沸性組成物は、潤滑剤、安定剤、金属不動態化剤、腐食防止剤、可燃性抑制剤、等を始めとする各種の付加的な添加剤のいずれをさらに含んでもよい。

本発明の組成物は、広い範囲の用途に有用性を有する。例えば、本発明の1つの態様は、熱伝達組成物(例えば、冷媒組成物)に関し、それは本発明の共沸性組成物を含んでなる。

本発明を以下の実施例においてさらに説明するが、これは、説明のためのものであり、どのような方法においても発明を限定するものではない。
石英温度計K96S4771を備えた凝縮器を頂部に備える、真空ジャケットされた管からなる沸点測定器を使用する。約18 gのHFO-1234yfを沸点測定器に入れ、次いで、CF3Iを少量の測定された増分にて加える。CF3IをHFO-1234yfに加えると温度降下が観察され、これは、二成分の最小沸点共沸混合物が形成されたことを示すものである。約0より大きく約75重量%までのCF3Iにおいて、組成物の沸点は約2℃又はそれより少なく変化した。表1に示した二成分混合物が研究され、組成物の沸点は約2℃又はそれより少なく変化した。組成物は、この範囲において共沸混合物及び/又は共沸性の特性を示す。
性能係数(COP)は、冷媒の性能について一般的に受け入れられている測定であって、冷媒の蒸発又は凝縮に関する特定の加熱サイクル又は冷却サイクルにおける冷媒の相対熱量効率を表すのに特に有用である。冷凍技術において、この用語は、蒸気を圧縮する圧縮器によって与えられたエネルギーに対する有効な冷媒の比率を示す。冷媒の容量(capacity:能力)は、それが提供する冷却或いは加熱の量を表し、所定の冷媒流速において圧縮器が熱量をくみ上げる能力に関するいくつかの測定値を提供する。つまり、所定の圧縮器において、高容量の冷媒は、より大きな冷却あるいは加熱する能力を提供する。所定の操作条件における冷媒のCOPを見積もるための1つの方法は、標準冷却サイクル分析法(例えば、R.C.Downing、「Fluorocarbon Refrigerants Handbook」第3章、Prentice-Hall、1988を参照)を用いる冷媒の熱力学的特性に基づくものである。
