【解決手段】 本発明の非水電解液二次電池用負極1は、リチウムを吸蔵したシリコン系材料の粒子5を含み、且つ粒子5間にリチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料6が浸透している活物質層3を有している。粒子5におけるリチウムの量は、シリコンの初期充電理論容量に対して5〜50%である。リチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料6は、活物質層3の厚み方向全域にわたって浸透していることが好ましい。負極1は、その表面において開孔し且つ活物質層3の厚み方向に延びる孔7を多数有することが好ましい。

Description
シリコン系材料の粒子を含む層を有するキャリア箔を、リチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料を含むめっき浴中に浸漬して電解めっきを行い、前記粒子間にリチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料を析出させ、
次いで前記キャリア箔を前記めっき浴から引き上げた後に、
前記粒子間に前記金属材料が析出した前記キャリア箔からなる作用極と、金属リチウムを有する対極とを、リチウム塩を有機溶媒に溶解してなる非水電解液中に浸漬し、作用極と対極とを短絡させて前記粒子中にリチウムを吸蔵させる非水電解液二次電池用負極の製造方法を提供するものである。
シリコン系材料の粒子を含む層を有する集電体を、リチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料を含むめっき浴中に浸漬して電解めっきを行い、前記粒子間にリチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料を析出させ、
次いで前記キャリア箔を前記めっき浴から引き上げた後に、
前記粒子間に前記金属材料が析出した前記層を、非水電解液を介在させて金属リチウム箔と対向させ、
この状態下に加熱して、前記粒子中にリチウムを吸蔵させる非水電解液二次電池用負極の製造方法を提供するものである。
・CuSO4・5H2O 150〜350g/l
・H2SO4 50〜250g/l
図2に示す工程に従い、図1に示す負極を製造した。電解によって得られた銅製のキャリア箔(厚さ35μm)を室温で30秒間酸洗浄した(図2(a))。キャリア箔を、40℃に保たれた3g/lのCBTA溶液中に30秒間浸漬した。これにより剥離剤による処理を行った(図2(b))。処理後、溶液から引き上げて15秒間純水洗浄した。

・NiCl2・6H20 45g/l
・H3BO4 30g/l
2極セルにおける通電時間を96分、及び120分にして、リチウムの吸蔵量を、Siの初期充電理論容量に対して20%(実施例2)、及び25%(実施例3)とする以外は実施例1と同様にして負極を得た。リチウムを吸蔵させる前後でのSi粒子の水分量をカール・フィッシャー法で測定したところ、実施例2では、吸蔵前は386.3ppm、吸蔵後は47.4ppmであった。実施例3では、吸蔵前は386.3ppm、吸蔵後は40.2ppmであった。
2極セルにおける通電時間を19分、及び323分にして、リチウムの吸蔵量を、Siの初期充電理論容量に対して4%(比較例1)、及び67%(比較例2)とする以外は実施例1と同様にして負極を得た。
得られた負極を作用極として用いて円筒型の非水電解液二次電池を作製した。対極としてLiCoO2を用いた。対極は、4mAh/cm2となるように、LiCoO2を厚み20μmのAl箔上に塗工して製造した。両極を、セパレータを介して対向させ巻回した。非水電解液としては、LiPF6/エチレンカーボネートとジメチルカーボネートの混合液(1:1容量比)を用いた。この電池の2サイクル目の充放電曲線を図7〜図11に示す。また、図7には、比較として、カーボン粉末を銅箔の表面に80μmの厚みとなるように塗工したものを作用極として用いた場合の結果を併せて示している。

Claims (9)
- リチウムを吸蔵したシリコン系材料の粒子を含み、且つ該粒子間にリチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料が浸透している活物質層を有し、該粒子におけるリチウムの量が、シリコンの初期充電理論容量に対して5〜50%であることを特徴とする非水電解液二次電池用負極。
- 前記リチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料が、活物質層の厚み方向全域にわたって浸透している請求項1記載の非水電解液二次電池用負極。
- 負極表面において開孔し且つ活物質層の厚み方向に延びる孔を多数有する請求項1又は2記載の非水電解液二次電池用負極。
- 活物質層上に形成された、リチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料からなる表面層を有する請求項1ないし3の何れかに記載の非水電解液二次電池用負極。
- 表面層にその厚み方向へ延びる微細空隙が多数形成されている請求項4記載の非水電解液二次電池用負極。
- シリコン系材料の粒子を含む層を有するキャリア箔を、リチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料を含むめっき浴中に浸漬して電解めっきを行い、前記粒子間にリチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料を析出させ、
次いで前記キャリア箔を前記めっき浴から引き上げた後に、
前記粒子間に前記金属材料が析出した前記キャリア箔からなる作用極と、金属リチウムを有する対極とを、リチウム塩を有機溶媒に溶解してなる非水電解液中に浸漬し、作用極と対極とを短絡させて前記粒子中にリチウムを吸蔵させる非水電解液二次電池用負極の製造方法。 - シリコン系材料の粒子を含む層を有する集電体を、リチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料を含むめっき浴中に浸漬して電解めっきを行い、前記粒子間にリチウム化合物の形成能の低い金属材料を析出させ、

前記粒子間に前記金属材料が析出した前記層を、非水電解液を介在させて金属リチウム箔と対向させ、
この状態下に加熱して、前記粒子中にリチウムを吸蔵させる非水電解液二次電池用負極の製造方法。 - 請求項1記載の負極を備えてなることを特徴とする非水電解液二次電池。
- 前記負極と、正極と、それらの間に介在するセパレータとが巻回されてなる巻回体を電池容器内に収容してなる請求項8記載の非水電解液二次電池。
