Abstract

905,161. Spray burners. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Dec. 2, 1959 [Jan. 23, 1959], No. 40990/59. Class 75 (1). [Also in Group XXIX] The body 2 of a fuel burner has a fuel feed conduit 5 and an atomizing gas conduit 6, and houses a cylindrical nozzle core 1 through the central conduit 9 of which the fuel flows, via a strainer 8, to circumferentially spaced radial outflow passages 14. The core is secured by a cap 3 and is flanged at each end. Circumferentially spaced atomizing gas passages 12 corresponding in number to the passages 14 extend through the front flange 1 and are skewed with respect to the core axis. Each passage 12 intersects a passage 14 substantially in the plane of the outer surface of the flange thereby providing a frusto-conical shaped spray stream. Alternatively two passages 14 may lead into each passage 12.
