Abstract
746,750. Liquid fuel burners. CURRAN, V. J., and KIGASS, Ltd. May 26,1953 [May 27, 1952], No. 13350/52. Class 75(1). [Also in Group XXIX] Liquid fuel fed to a tubular housing 1, Fig. 1, flows through two or more radial slots 6 in a plate 3 to an annular groove 5 therein, and then passes through tangential slots 8 in a plate 7 to a whirl chamber 11 and leaves as a spray from an outlet 13 in a plate 12. The chamber 11 is formed by coaxial apertures 9 in the adjacent plates 7 and 10. Fig. 6 shows a double orifice burner comprising an annular housing 15 containing apertured plates 16, 17 and plates 18 with outlets 19. The fuel is fed to an annular groove 20 and flows through radial slots 22, through a further annular groove 21 to tangential slots in the plate 16, and into a whirl chamber common to the outlets.
