Abstract
641,089. Liquid-fuel burner nozzles. HODGKINSON (SALFORD), Ltd., J., and SEYMOUR, J. May 3, 1947, No. 11993. [Class 75(i)] A liquid-fuel burner nozzle with fuel fed to a swirl chamber and emerging therefrom through a nozzle orifice comprises a solid stepped cylindrical member C secured in a casing B to provide an annular fuelreceiving chamber b<SP>1</SP> from which the fuel passes to helical grooves c3 cut in the smaller and coned end face of the stepped cylindrical member, such grooves being enclosed by an internally coned nozzle member C<SP>1</SP> and terminating tangentially in an annular groove b<SP>2</SP> cut in such smaller and coned end face, this annular groove b<SP>2</SP> serving to maintain the swirl 'in the fuel on its passage through the swirl chamber b<SP>3</SP> to the nozzle orifice b4. The casing B is secured on the fuel supply pipe A<SP>1</SP> by an adaptor B<SP>1</SP>, the fuel first entering a reservoir space b formed between the adaptor B<SP>1</SP> and the large end of the solid stepped cylindrical member C and then passing by longitudinal grooves c<SP>2</SP> to the annular fuelreceiving chamber b<SP>1</SP>.
