Abstract
584,060. Liquid-fuel burners. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and MARLOW, F. J. Dec. 18, 1944, No. 25399. [Class 75 (i)] A liquid-fuel spraying nozzle suitable for use in internal combustion prime movers comprises a swirl plug e and nipple f secured to a cylindrical holder b by a flanged cylindrical body a engaged by a sleeve l screwing on the holder b, the swirl plug having a truncated conical face formed with two or more sets of differently sized equidistant helical grooves i, j communicating with two or more valve-controlled supply ducts c, d in the holder b so that the discharge from the nipple orifice g may be adjusted to that required either of normal or light load. The sleeve l may be formed with a lip t and holes s for directing air on to the fuel jet.
