Abstract
617,795. Liquid-fuel burners. RICARDO, H. R., HOLT, G. A., BROOK, K., and C.A.V., Ltd. Aug. 28, 1946, No. 25854. [Class 75 (i)] [Also in Group XXVII] A fuel spraying nozzle comprises a valve part F seating at B and carrying a pintle G closing the main injection orifice C and forming an annular chamber H into which open one or more additional orifices J. Fuel supplied from a pump to the space D lifts the valve F and is injected solely through the orifice J until the pintle G is raised sufficiently to open the orifice C. Hence at low rates of fuel supply the bulk of the fuel passes through the orifice J, whilst at high rates the bulk passes through the main orifice C.
