A duplex burner 1 for a gas turbine has a main fuel atomizer 2 with a cylindrical orifice 4 disposed concentrically about a pilot fuel atomizer 3 having a divergent frusto-conical orifice 5 producing a conical spray of fuel which impinges on the internal surface 6 of the main atomizer 2 or on fuel flowing thereover so as to be broken up thereby and improve the pilot fuel distribution
