Abstract
815,174. Spray burners. HOBSON Ltd., H. M. Jan. 22, 1958 [Feb. 1, 1957], No. 3584/57. Class 75(1) A spray nozzle for injecting fuel into a gas turbine and having a substantially linear pressure flow characteristic comprises a plug 3 having one or more orifices 5 through which fuel flows into a chamber 11 with a diverging wall against which faces a resiliently flexing disc 6 which at its edge moves away from the wall a variable amount dependent on the pressure of the fuel to give a diverging spray. The disc is bolted at its centre with the interposition of an appropriately sized distance piece 8 to the plug 3 by a bolt 10. The disc periphery co-operates with a deflector ring 7 screwed on to the plug and having its inner wall of the same diverging angle as the wall of the chamber 11.
