Abstract

1,067,717. Spray-producers. URQUHART'S (1926) Ltd. July 15, 1965 [Aug. 6, 1964], No. 32131/64. Heading B2F. Apparatus for spraying two different liquids comprises a central duct 4 for supplying a first liquid to a nozzle 6, a concentric duct defined by a tube 5 for supplying the second liquid to the nozzle, and an outer concentric duct defined by a tube 1 and arranged to supply compressed air or steam to an annular outlet 15. The outlet 15 is designed to produce a converging discharge which atomizes the liquids leaving the nozzle 6. The liquids e.g. oil and water, are fed separately via axially spaced tengential inlets into a swirl chamber 21 and move towards the outlet 22 of the nozzle 6 as two annular films because of their different specific gravities. In the embodiment of. Fig. 3, (not shown) the swirl plate has two interconnected oil feed ports.
