Abstract

894,776. Spray-producers. HESSION, J. W. April 14, 1959, No. 12694/59. Class 69 (3). A housing 10 of an aerosol producing nozzle has an aerosol outlet 13 and an axially adjustable member 25 through which liquid centrally flows and is delivered from a nozzle tip 36 where it is atomized by a swirling gas stream flowing about that tip from a frusto-conical chamber 27. The gas is supplied to a port 14 and passes from an annular chamber 30 through spiral grooves 31 to the chamber 27. An 0-ring 44, disposed between a flange on the member 25 and the rear wall of the housing, is compressed by a threaded collar 20 to vary the spacing of the tip 36 from the rear of the outlet 13 such that the gas flow draws the liquid through the device.
