Abstract

746,977. Spray-producers. RITZAU, P. Jan. 27, 1954 [Jan. 31, 1953], No. 2443/54. Class 69 (3). A casing 12 containing liquid or powder 4 and a nozzle 5 is supplied with compressed air at 2, which air passes through a central passage 6 and strikes a baffle 11 which deflects it, and causes liquid or powder to be sucked up passages 7 and 8 and atomized or distributed. The air flow also causes the suction of air or other gas into the casing via an axially adjustable chimney 16, and the resulting spray passes between the chimney and a further baffle 17 and leaves from an outlet 13. The baffle 11 is of bar form, Fig. 4, and is secured to a ring 27 which is rotatably mounted on the nozzle 5, and the air flow and hence the spray formed is controlled by rotatably adjusting the position of the baffle 11 relative to the passages 7 and 8. A sleeve 19 containing an electric heating coil 21 or an electric charging apparatus, or apparatus for the admixing of substances, may be fitted at the top of the chimney. A number of such devices may be interconnected such that the outlet of the first device is connected by a tube to the chimney of the second device and so on.
