Abstract

710,459. Spray-producers. INSTITUUT VOOR TUINSBOUWTECHNIEK. March 21, 1952 [March 22, 1951], No. 7374/52. Class 69 (3) A liquid atomizer comprises an air duct 1 with a constricted end 2 housing a hollow frustoconical body 4 with a conical enlargement 6 at its upstream end. Liquid is supplied to a chamber 9 from a duct 7, and flows from an annular outlet 10 along the outer wall of the body 4 to a knife-edge S where it is atomized by the air flow. In Fig. 2 the air duct has a Venturishaped outlet 33, and the conical body 16 is supported by liquid supply ducts 15 carried on a sleeve 11, so that the position of the body is adjustable axially in the duct. In a further embodiment the body is secured to liquid supply duets which ate adjustably supported on rods which extend forwardly from the air duct. The liquid ducts may be streamlined in cross-section.
