Abstract

1386186 Spray producers R BOUILLARD and H BOUILLARD 17 Jan 1973 [28 March 1972] 2368/73 Heading B2F An atomizer in the form of a gun comprises a barrel having two coaxial tubes, the outer tube 5, Figure 1, communicating with a source of water under pressure arid the inner tube 10 communicating with a tank 13 for liquid product to be atomised, the outer tube 5 having at its outlet end a bobbin-shaped mixer 18, Fig. 4, for inducing liquid-product flow and mixing it with the flow of pressurised water. The mixer 18 has two annular flanges 24, 25 in sealing engagement with an extension sleeve 19 of the outer tube 5. Pressurized water enters through a central bore 35 and induces liquid-product flow along the inner tube 10, through a coupling member 31, an annular' chamber 33, a radial bore (38), (Figure 3 not shown), and into a chamber 37 wherein it becomes entrained in the high speed flow of water and issues through an outlet bore 41. The issuing jet is atomized by impingement on an adjustable deflector 21. Operation of the atomizer is controlled by a trigger-operated valve 6 in the water supply conduit.
