Abstract
770,530. Liquid fuel atomizers. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES), Ltd., J. Feb. 17, 1955 [Feb. 24, 1954], No. 5408/54. Class 75(1) A rotary bowl type liquid fuel atomizer comprises a nested assembly of two separately formed bowls a, b and an end plate c which between them form a pair of annular discharge orifices, the first bowl a serving as a fuel reception chamber f having a ported periphery through which fuel passes to the associated annular orifice and the second bowl b having its ports i through which fuel passes from the fuel chamber f to the second annular orifice. Further bowls with ported bases may be added. The bowls are carried on a spindle d driven by an electric motor e. Fuel is supplied to the chamber f by a pipe g. At low fuel supply rates the fuel'is discharged only from the first annular orifice between.the two cups but at higher rates it is discharged from both annular orifices.
