Abstract

653,558. Spray carburetters. CONSTANTINE, W. W. (General Motors Corporation). Feb. 16, 1945, No. 13235/49. Divided out of 653,493. Drawings to Specification. [Class 7(iii)] In a downdraught carburetter whose mixture passage outlet is adapted to communicate with an engine intake manifold when the carburetter is assembled thereon and the base of whose fuel chamber (whose interior is maintained at atmospheric pressure), is located adjacent to the outlet at its point of communication with the manifold, the fuel inlet to the mixture passage is connected to a fuel conduit located above the level of fuel in the fuel chamber which itself is connected to a fuel passage in a tube depending from the upper part of the carburetter (which is separated from the fuel chamber by the usual gasket), into the fuel chamber to a point above the base thereof but below the level of fuel maintained therein so that it is normally surrounded by fuel. The carburetter shown is identical with that shown in Fig. 1 of the Specification 653,493 and it is described in the abridgment of that Specification.
