Abstract
620,374. Spray-producers. RICHARDS, C. H., and MOUCHEL & PARTNERS, Ltd., L. G. Jan. 16, 1947, No. 1530. [Class 69 (iii)] A sprayer for the distribution of water in water - cooling towers comprises a nozzle, and a cup whose distance from the nozzle varies automatically with the water pressure, thus altering the width of the discharge annulus. In the embodiment the cup a has a serrated edge b, and a central cusp c which forms a discharge annulus between the cup and the lower portion of a nozzle p. The cup is supported upon three equally-spaced bolts e, held by a flange l and springs d, which allow vertical movement of the cup depending on the water pressure on the cusp c from a main feed pipe n.
