Abstract
1450190 Burners MITSUBISHI JUKOGYO KK 1 Nov 1973 [9 Nov 1972] 50856/73 Heading F4T [Also in Division F1] An air swirler 10 for a gas turbine combustion chamber comprises radially inner and outer annular arrays of inclined air ports 42, 32 surrounding the liquid fuel nozzle 18 to respectively promote swirl of the fuel and mixing of the combustion components. The ports 42, 32 may be inclined in the same direction or normal to each other. Further inclined vanes 26 are arranged in an annular chamber 20 also supplying the ports 32 in a baffle 30. The fuel nozzle 18 is immediately surrounded by an annular chamber 34 fed with atomizing air. The atomizing air and combustion air is supplied by a compressor 13. A pressure balance piston 44 is responsive to combustion pressure to admit more air to ports 42.
