885,376. Burners. STEINMULLER G.m.b.H., L. & C. April 9, 1958, No. 11326/58. Class 75(1) In a burner for liquid, gaseous or powdered fuel an outer annular passage c is supplied with two flows I, II of air, one flow I being without swirl and the other flow being swirled by a set of blades f axially movable in a tapering nozzle. The proportion of swirling air to non- swirling air is determined by the position of the blades f. The rate of flow of the air is determined by a rotary flap e. The annular passage c surrounds an annular passage b supplied with fuel and carrier gas. The central passage a is supplied with air. An oil atomizer may be installed in the central passage a. In another embodiment the outer annular passage has two air supply ducts one of which contains a set of swirl vanes; each duct has a rotary flap.
