809,218. Regulating; stopping. BOSCH G.m.b.H., R. Aug. 12, 1957 [Aug. 14, 1956], No. 25326/57. Classes 7(5) and 7(6) [Also in Group XXVI] A fuel injection pump control rod 19 is controlled conjointly with a throttle valve 14 by an accelerator pedal 13 and in accordance with engine speed by a centrifugal governor 3 which acts through a lever 5 pivoted on a pivot 7 which is adjusted in a slot 6 in the lever 5 by the manually operated linkage 12, 10, 8 so that for a given movement of the governor sleeve 3, the movement of rod 19 by the governor varies from a maximum at small throttle openings to a minimum or zero at full throttle. The rod 19 is connected by a link 18 to the upper end of the lever 5 at 17, Fig. 3, the pivot 7 of which is carried by a crank lever 8 connected to the pedal 13. At small throttle openings the pivot 7 is in the position 7<SP>1</SP> and a movement " a " of the sleeve 3 produces a movement " b " of the rod 19; at full throttle the pivot 7 is coaxial with the end of lever 18 and movement of the sleeve 3 has no effect on the rod 19. In a modification, Fig. 2, the link 18 is connected to the rod 19 through a lever 21 pivoted at 22 in a pair of eccentrics 30, 34, which are adjusted by a barometric capsule 32 and a thermostat 36 to adjust the control rod 19 for atmospheric pressure and temperature and cooling water temperature independently of the hand and governor controls. A spring-loaded lostmotion lever 24 in the connection between lever 21 and rod 19 permits movement of the rod 19 to the fuel cut-off position by a stop lever 39.
