Abstract
768,501. Lamp-holders. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. April 7, 1955, No. 10315/55. Class 38 (1). A holder for one end of a double-ended tubular lamp having bi-pin caps comprises a body 1 slidably supporting within a recess 5 a contact-carrying member 2, outward movement of which is limited by a central screw, not shown. Member 2 is urged outwards by two contact springs 3 anchored at their inner ends by terminals 6 and received at their outer ends within recesses 9 behind pin-entry holes 10 in the end wall 11 of member 2. The ends of the springs form blade contacts 12 extending transversely to the axis of the lamp pins. An earthing contact spring 14 secured to the base 4 of the body extends along a recess in member 2 to engage the cap of the lamp.
