716,074. Connecting-rods. ANELAYS (BLACKBURN), Ltd., and MACMILLAN, H. G. June 25, 1953 [July 1, 1952], No. 16514/52. Class 122(1) [Also in Group XXXIV] A forked connecting-rod for an engine wherein two pistons 3 in adjacent cylinders move in unison and at least one of the arms of the rod has a gudgeonpin bearing eye 5 of which the axis is parallel to that of the big-end bearing of the rod, comprises a bush 9 mounted for oscillation in the eye 5 and adapted to carry a gudgeon pin 7 which passes therethrough, at right angles to the axis of the big-end bearing, and through openings 11 in the eye 5. As applied to a two-stroke, internal combustion engine, the gudgeon pin associated with the bush 9 is perpendicular to the crank pin 'to permit movement of the bush on the gudgeon pin as the inclination of the connecting-rod changes.
