Abstract
796,473. Connecting-rods. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG AKT.- GES. Oct. 2, 1956 [Oct. 28, 1955], No. 29951/56. Class 122 (1). In a V-type internal-combustion engine having two connecting-rods 1, 2 connected to a common crank-pin 6, the big-end of one rod 1 being forked and embracing that of the other, the rods are respectively mounted on independent two-part crankpin bearing bushes 3, 4 and 5 and the bearing caps for the forked ends are integrally connected by a bridge portion 11 extending over the periphery of the caps. The joint faces 7 and 8 of each rod are serrated and inclined with respect to the rod axis. The shank and bearing cap of the connecting-rod 2 are connected by bolts 12 and 13 respectively screwed in members 14 and 15 inserted in apertures provided respectively in the shank and bearing cap.
