Abstract

Connecting-rods.-In an engine or pump having parallel cylinders with pistons acting on a crank-shaft approximately at right-angles to the axes of the cylinders, the two pistons are attached to a single connecting-rod, which flexes to accommodate the varying distances apart of the gudgeon-pins G. The rod may be in one piece, or in two parts bolted together as shown, or the big-end may be provided with a cap.
