Abstract

156,895. Burt, P. Oct. 13, 1919. Connecting-rods.-In a bigend assembly for a radialcylinder internal-combustion engine, the segmental big ends 6 of two auxiliary connecting-rods 8 slide in a groove, formed either in a bush 1 on the crank-pin, or in the inner periphery of the bigend 3 of the master connecting-rod 4. The auxiliary rods are retained in the groove by the big end of the master rod, which is divided, and is slotted to permit oscillation of the auxiliary rods, the cap being formed with one or more bridge pieces 12.
