168,144. Rubury, J. M. May 21, 1920. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Adjusting for wear in a composite connecting- rod bearing for internalcombustion engines having three or more connecting-rods operating on one crank-pin. The bands g which surround the footpads d formed on the rods a are divided into as many segments as there are connecting-rods, the segments being clamped together by bolts k. Adjustment is effected by machining the contacting faces of the segments g and their liners h, or by removing shives placed between these faces. One connecting-rod is fixed by pins m to one segment of each of the two bands, which are arranged one on each side of the rod. If the crank-pin has one free end, or if one of the crank webs is detachable, the pins m may extend into a cylindrical bush placed on the crank-pin f; this bush may be in two parts.
