Valves; valve-gear.- Relates to engines having pairs of sleeve valves G, H working between the cylinder heads and the water jackets and each reciprocated by a pair of cranks or eccentrics F, E on an overhead shaft C, as described in Specification 28061/08. According to the present invention, the bearings C<2> for the shaft C are disposed centrally over the axes of the cylinders, the lower halves of the bearings being formed in extensions N of the cylinders, and the upper halves in caps E<1>.
